Until a few months I was on the hunt for this set. I had it in days gone by and sold it off with my entire collection (2001ish). When I came back in (2017) I wanted this set again. Pre-pandemic I wasn't willing to spend the $$$ for it. Pandemic pricing, no way. HOWEVER...... while scouring around one day I found a listing that was way below what it's been normally going and all cards were raw (nothing graded for me thank you very much). The write-up was pretty scary sounding (for an investor), but the scans looked decent enough. I won the auction for WAY under what the Jeter alone would go for. I got the set apprehensive Jeter may have some hidden flaws. Nope. May not be a "10" but was sweet looking still.
Takeaway is this, finish it (it is a nice set), but do so with patience. You may come across a Jeter that hits your wickets without the inflated pricing attached.
Tired and trembling
I am descending,
will I have to stay here
and live this life again?
