Does anybody know if they did separate releases for retail and hobby? I went to my local hobby shop and picked up a hanger only to find that it had a plain white background and silver lettering, similar to the base of last year's Absolute. That's in contrast to the holofoil (I believe) with gold lettering for this year's base Absolute, per many pictures. Am I just missing an insert/parallel in this set or is it something else entirely? Thank you.

Is there any serial number stamping on it? Maybe post a pic or two in the Card ID/Mystery forum so we can see

After watching both Hobby and Retail breaks on YouTube, yes the hobby cards are foilboard and retail plain white stock.
And I don't see a Retail parallel listed here.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I can see this is going to be another problem already. I'm only 25 cards into the migration and people are already refilling the first 25 with more Retail images
READ THE RELEASE NOTES!

Absolute has almost ALWAYS been an issue here with hobby vs. retail and I hate to have to keep telling people the difference. But it subsided for a bit and now it's back in full force. I am SO tired of Hobby/Retail variations (or parallels, IF you want to call them that)!

Why didn't you just leave the retail version as the "base" checklist, instead of moving 300+ scans and adding 100 SN notes to the base checklist, months after these were new and everybody had already added their white cards as base cards?

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Yes, it probably would have been easier to remove card numbers 201-242 from the checklist and turn it into the Retail checklist. And there were no images for those cards.

As far as I had always thought, hobby was supposed to be the "base" in releases like this, with retail as a parallel.
Doesn't mean that every release is formatted correctly, but that was always my impression. Not sure if I just picked that up from similar sets, or I read it somewhere, or what, but that rings familiar to me.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

I REALLY wish the retail would stay the base set and the hobby (gold foil) would show as a spectrum insert (as listed on checklist from cardboard)
