2018 Leaf Valiant Baseball Forum

I guess my thing is, if there are 5,000 boxes made (made up number), there have to be 5,000 cards to get a 9.5 or 10, out of 25,000 total cards printed (based on stated ratio 1 in 5 cards are graded).  How can they know this will happen?  Every card in this release is Autographed, so they are being handled by a lot of people before they are graded.  Does Leaf tell them "We need 5000 cards back in a 9.5 or better slab, or we cant release the set"?  Does BGS go along with this request, and maybe bump some cards up to an undeserved 9.5 to fill the order?  Or is a 9.5 grade super-easy to achieve?  I know little about the grading process, and care even less, and stuff like this only adds to my distrust.

I'm not discounting some under-the-table agreement, and maybe as was suggested by someone else, the ones that don't make the cut get distributed as x-outs, like they used to do on albums years ago. Whatever the case I'm not the "Leaf-st" interested.

I don't know if any of you remember in 2000 when Edge released a graded set (I think it was called Edge Graded Football) anyhow you got 1 Pack and 1 graded caed per $25.00 minni box, does anyone remember those? They turned out to be junk and shortley after those came out Edge went belly up and under. I maybe wrong but that could have been the 1st ever "Graded Card" per box scam, yes I say scam because you would get PSA 10's of some guy named Tom Brady who no one wanted.......THEN! No the stuff was still junk and that is what I am trying to say, you just never get what you pay for and these guys now days want $150.00 to $1500.00 per pack for this junk. I will just stick to Topps because they still do it right, last year 2018 Topps Baseball broke records in the hobby for sales, I bet Leaf does not even come close? Sorry about my rant guys/gals I'm just sick of card companies sticking to us every year!

I like old Leaf products, this may be under new management. 

Topps has upped its game, and I do appreciate that a variety of inserts are available within the price everyone has to pay for their product, unlike this set, or the one you just mentioned.
