Although I think you are specifically speaking of baseball, Topps did it in the 2000-01 NBA set with Alan Henderson. There was a thread about it a while back. A card in each series, yet nothing changed. He was with the Hawks both times, and they didn't even get new jersey designs that year.

I think the Adams was 2013 Update. ------------------------------- I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

In 2007, Topps made two identical Michael Barrett cards, #68 and #492. https://www.tradingcarddb.com/CollectionGalleryP.cfm/pid/311/Michael-Barrett?Member=tntcardsstg&CollectionID=1&Filter=G The second one was an error, however, and they printed a second #492, of John Buck.

It's happened when players change teams as well.

I know with UD in the 90s S1 would have old team, S2 with new team.

1993 has Key, Stieb, Gruber twice..

I am pretty sure I never ran across anything like this during my first heyday of collecting, 1977-1981, but maybe this is something that has become more common with Topps sets now being split into Series 1 and Series 2.

Are there any other verified examples of this happening? Or an explanation (other than simple human error) as to why it happens?
