I agree with Shannon - I think the photography really stands out this year. I bought two blasters last night and while I only got one card of my PC players (Cal Ripken graepfruit), they were fun to rip and I will have plenty of trade bait to upload. The hits I've been seeing people pull on Twitter in case breaks have been very appealing.

I wonder the same thing. They don't normally need all the big names in S1... we all have the itch and will buy some no matter who is in it! But by the time S2 comes around, I'm starting to get card fatigue. Maybe Harper will have another card, assuming he doesn't stay in Washington? Or would they save that for Update?
In any case, without the Ohtani/Acuna/Soto madness this year, it's gonna be much slower... should be easier to find on the shelves, at least until Vlad Jr is in the set.

Overall I like the product, but I started noticing last night as I'm looking at cards - not in hand because where I go didn't have any - the bottom white nameplate area seems blah to me. I love the similarity to '82s with the colorful lines and the photography remains top notch, but as I'm looking at my Astros last night I started seeing too much white at the bottom for my taste.

I find it easy to complete the base set. I'm like 81% complete buying just 1 box. Too bad I'm not going after the set! So I listed all of mine as for trade except for my Yankees.

I opened my first pack last night. I always like Topps. These cards on first glance really are nice. I love the career stats again on the back. I like they finally added an actual different look from the 2016-2018 sets, which only differed by minor looking tweaks on the front. I also liked that the retail pack is back up to 16 cards, close to the 15 from when I was youg. I am not thrilled they upped the price of the pack to 2.99, but I actually felt like I opened a pack of cards for the first time in years as opposed to just getting the 8 - 10 cards that have become standard.
I say bravo to Topps! I feel like some of the modifications show they are listening to what collectors want, unlike Panini.

I bought my first box today. I like the design, but never being a big fan of parallels now I have to deal with a 150 years parallel also. At least the rainbow foils are easy to spot in this years set.

I usually like to build the base set, so having so many inserts and parallels kind of is annoying. Many I end up trading pretty much at par with base.

As a Cardinals fan, there's enough missing names to keep me interested in Series 2. Wainwright, Wacha, Wong, Ozuna, O'Neill, Fowler...and presumably Goldschmidt and Miller wearing the birds on the bat.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I pulled a 1984 Loudes Gurriel Jr. Auto out of a hobby pack. The only problem is there is no auto to be found... Card #84A-LG and the front says “Topps Certified Autograph Issue” and it’s completely blank. Thoughts?

I like the set. I bought 2 jumbo boxes, and I got 2 complete sets. Been watching breaks on the internet, and it seems like there are alot of repeats on the relics and autos.
