I see presale of these for $14,000/box online. Sure, it's only half the price of Topps Transcendent baseball, but this box ONLY HAS NINE CARDS. All Kobe. Eight autos and one that has an ounce of gold or platinum. I don't see the print run on anything.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

still don't see the worth in it.. hell.,gold is only going for about $1260 an OZ.. that still leaves about 10k for 7-8 cards.. i think this box was produced and marketed like this to make up for the years losses, like people are going to run out and snag it thinking they're going to get a gold mine inside

I think anything over $150 for a new complete set is ridiculous, this is coming from a guy who has never bought a new complete set, but $14000? FOR 9 CARDS! I think the makers of these cards were like “hey I got a crazy idea, let’s see how many stupid people buy it.”

Problem is: There will be enough people to buy it. And the cycle continues.
When a box of cards costs as much as a low end automobile, something ain't right.

1962. My brother and I saved our money and bought a box of Topps baseball for $1.20. Which box would you rather have? I dont know what a box of '62s go for now (if there are any) but I would rather have one of those. Oh yeah, no sales tax back then either....no state income tax too.

I agree with the problem of people buying it at those insane prices. Just like people buying a brand new card for triple digits right out of the starting gate.

Oh yeah, rich and insane Kobe fans with tons of money to throw away will buy them. Not a matter of if, but who and when.

Panini made me a little upset this year when I opened Prizm. Not only did the coach cards bother me like I mentioned, but some of the cards had some sort of sticky imperfections on the card. I was able to gently rub it off, but it left a weird spot underneath. One of the cards has an indent next to the sticky spot on the back too. I have no idea what would have caused this, but I don't like it.
