So I get some of these cards and stickers today and update my sets. When I go to the Sticker insert set, even though they are OPC, I get linked to the Topps sticker set. What is worse, from that page, if you go to the Overview, you end up on the Topps set.

It was not like this previously so something was changed behind the scenes. Why? I wish those who know everything stopped doing things without asking the membership what their thoughts are. OPC is OPC, not Topps.

If I had to guess, the stickers made by Topps were issued in both products.  So to avoid double-listing, the OPC set is linked to Topps.

Ah man I had some of those stickers! I stuck Jill and Kelly to the footboard of my bed along with some of the Jaws 2 stickers when I was a kid. I still have some of the cards somewhere. The only thing I can think of with your issue, was the 1st series OPC originally was printed without French (55 cards + 11 stickers) so there was no real difference between the two sets up to that point. Later editions added the French as well as the series' 2 & 3. 

Problem is these were made by OPC in the London OPC plant. No, difficult to tell any difference between Topps and OPC but when you buy OPC and get stickers, they are OPC. And why are they linked to Topps where then you end up on the Topps set page. What if instead of going to The Topps page, we get the sticker set to go to the OPC overview page?

There was no need for this change; I wish it had been discussed before someone took their own initiative to do so but in the last 5 years, this has become the normal operating procedure for this site and those who think they know more than others. And we wonder why some members leave and don't come back.

The cross-linking can only be done by Admin, not some rogue member.  I see no indication on the stickers as to where or who printed them.

Is there any difference between the Topps and OPC stickers?

OPC stickers come with OPC cards; Topps stickers come with Topps cards. If I collect OPC, I would like that they are listed and titled O-Pee-Chee and I would also like that if I am adding stickers in my electronic collection, it is linked to the base set they came with, not with a parent company. After I enter them, when I click on Overview, I would like to be back to the OPC set, not the Topps set.

I remember the discussion about this Bruno. I can't find the thread but some old threads seem to have disappeared, or the original one was made without some key search terms in the title. Somebody brought up they were identical in every way to each other so how to tell them apart. Somewhere in that thread somebody brought up the idea of cross linking......but as Chuck said the only one that can make that decision  and change is ADMIN so he is the only one that can answer your question.

I understand that concern, and I thought that there was something in place that took the user back to the main set from which they navigated, but that might not be the case. I know we did the same thing for the buybacks in the Topps baseball products where the same stamps were used across the different products making it impossible to tell which product it came from once out of the packaging. We also had an even more similar situation with some hockey sets in the late 90s/early 00s where Topps released OPC products, but several of the insert sets were included in both products - and since there was no difference in the insert card between OPC or Tops (and they were labeled as "Topps" cards, they are listed in the Topps set and cross-linked from the OPC set.

If the stickers are labeled as OPC and included in both, then the site's method is to list them in OPC and cross-link them in Topps, but if they are labeled as Topps, then they have been handled properly according to the guidelines.

I would raise the concern to Admin regarding the navigation and maybe, just maybe, there's a way for him to "remember" the path the user took to get to the cross-linked set, and when any of the links are used on the left, they actually re-direct to the orginal set's links, and not the new set's. I'm not sure it can be done, but it certainly can't hurt to ask. Again, I understand your concern, but at the same time, it appears that everything has been set up correctly acoording to the site's guidelines.
