They have an expired redemption department. You mail the unstratched redemption card to an address(its on their website somewhere) and I believe it enters a drawing. Your not guarenteed to get anything back. I opened a box of 2009 UpperDeck Icons football and got a Letterman card for the eventual winner of the Presidental election. Would have been Obama. Months after forgetting that I sent it in I got a package. In it was a plastic clamshell card holder with the Upper Deck logo on it. There was a 2013 Rookie Autograph Corderrelle Patterson card; Two dozen Hockey promo cards for Panini Day and Canada Day. And a complete Upper Deck Winter 10 card set featuring Gretzky, Jordan, Lebron, Patrick Roy, Serena Williams, Tiger Woods and some other hockey guys I'm not familliar with. None of it is particularily valueable but it was the effort that Upper Deck went through that stood out. So go ahead and send it in the Upper Deck and see what happens.
By comparison, Panini just recently announced that they would not be fulfilling anymore expired redemptions
