I'm wondering what everyone thinks about this set's checklist. I think the card "Name" should be the character name (on the front of the card) not the "non-humorous" quote.
For instance, I think this card should be named "Iron Man" not "Quick anyone have an oilcan?"
Am I missing something?
Edited for spelling, but I have to add...this is a terrible set. It's such a train wreck I might have to start collecting it.

I completely agree with you Chad! Every card has the character name on the front. The only ones that need the quote anywhere in the listing are the variation quote cards, such as the Volstagg cards.

Agree.
I had a similar issue with Disney POGS recently, Dan set it straight.

Since they are NNO, having the quote in Note2 would help other collectors looking for their cards in the cases where there are more than 1 card for a specific character. But the Name field should definitely contain the character's name, not the quote.

I agree. The printed checklists that showed on the back of the Conan Puzzle piece cards have the character names for the "cards" (stickers) just as Series 1 did with the Fantastic Four Puzzle pieces. There are no card numbers. in the cases where there is a character appearing on two different stickers with two different quotes the checklists would list them as "character1" and "character2" (Iron Man 1, Iron Man 2).
We usually try to go with how the manufacturer identified the cards/stickers correct?
I do also think the quote should be there somewhere (in the notes section?) to help identify also.

No additional info in the Name field. Adding 1 and 2 is not proper for the checklist - besides, who's to say which is 1 and which is 2? That doesn't positively identify which is which. By putting the quote text into Note2, we are providing a definite "this is this card" whether we have images loaded or not.

I had a similar question with this set...
https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/86213/1994-Topps-Universal-Monsters
the "title" of the card is the start of the quote/wording from the back of the card. Some of the fronts do have character names on them, but the vast majority do not. The set is broken into specific character groups. Should it be changed?

Those aren't character names, they're the film titles on the front.

Yes, sorry....been a while since I went through those of mine that I have.....but still that question is valid. Should it be the Character/Film Name for the title of the card and the beginning text in Note2 to differentiate? or should they be left as is?

IMO, the film title is prominently printed on the backs and could be used in the Name field. Unlike NNO cards, since the cards are numbered there's no confusing one card from another.
