THIS CARD STATES "BOGGS GETS 200 HITS 6TH STRAIGHT SEASONS", CLEVELAND, OHIO, OCTOBER 2ND, 1988. AS A MATTER OF FACT, WADE BOGGS DIDN'T EVEN PLAY THAT DAY. HE FINISHED THE SEASON WITH 214 HITS. SO WHEN DID HE BREAK THE RECORD. IT HAPPENED ON SEPTEMBER 20TH, 1988, TOTONTO, CANADA. THAT IS WHAT THE CARD SHOULD HAVE ON IT. THIS CARD NEEDS TO BE AN UNCORRECTED ERROR. THANK YOU. YOUR THOUGHTS?

All the Record Breaker cards that has season-long feats were "recorded" as the last day of the season (October 2, 1988). No UER needed.

THIS IS NOT A SEASON LONG FEAT. HE BROKE A RECORD ON THAT DATE WHEN HE RECORDED A HIT. THE HERSHISER RECORD BREAKER HAS A DATE OF SEPTEMBER 28TH, THE DAY HE BROKE THE RECORD.

Sixth straight season - it's about the total number of hits in a season. Please look at the other record breaker cards that deal with seasonal feats - Hershiser was a specific thing, and not a season-long or multiple-season thing). UER is not appropriate here.
Kevin McReynolds did not steal a base on October 2nd.
Andre Dawson did not get his 10th HR or SB on th October 2nd.
Gary Carter did not record his 9942nd put out on October 2nd.
None of those should have UERs either.

I AGREE WITH YOU ON THOSE THREE EXAMPLES, BUT BOGGS IS DIFFERENT. WHEN HE GOT THAT HIT, THE RECORD WAS SET, WHATEVER HE DID AFTER THAT IT DIDN'T MATTER. THE OTHER THREE EXAMPLES HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE SEASON ENDED. CURIOUS, HAS THIS EVER BEEN DISCUSSED BEFORE?

Sorry, but I disagree with you - Dawson did not have to wait till the end of the season to have 10 HRs and 10 SBs. McReynolds did not have to wait untul a day where he did not steal a base to set a mark for stolen bases. And so forth. All 4 of these examples (Boggs, Dawson, Carter, & McReynolds) did not have to wait until the last day of the season for those exact numbers, but for them to be for the SEASON, the season had to end. And October 2nd was the end of the seaon. Therefore, these seasonal marks occurred on the day the season ended.
PS: Please turn the CAPS LOCK off. You look like you're screaming at us. Thanks.

Sorry about the caps, bad habit. Okay, I'll just have to live with that answer. Thanks Mr. Vrooom.

Dan is correct, no UER.
Please read the card carefully. "200-or-more Hits for the 6th consecutive season." The card is not talking about his 200th hit, it's talking about getting 200 or more hits in a season.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I thought he broke the record after a plane ride to LA. Oh, that was Charlie.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

The seasonal records continue until the end of the season. If you hit home run number 74 on september 14 the record was broken but every hr after that is a new record. So it really doesn't become official until the season ends.

Collecting history one card at a time.
