That was the best game-winning play of the season so far and will probably stay that way. I couldn't believe it when Stefon turned towards the goalline and there was nothing but green in front of him. A rookie WR would have stepped out of bounds thinking FG, but Diggs thought TD! Congrats to the Vikes and their fans! I was rooting for them through the whole game.
NOW, it doesn't matter who wins next weekend, SOMEONE will get a shot at the team's 1st SB victory. The Pats are the only one with a Super Bowl win.

So a ref retired over bone headed calls this playoff season, shall we see a young player follow? Probably not, but I wonder what his psyche will be going into next season. DBs need to have short memories as it is, but this was awful.

Did Buckner retire after the 1986 WS?

I do wish everyone would stop blaming the DB for the Saints on that play. YES, he's a rookie, BUT he did what the coaches told him to do = Don't get a pass interference flag! He whiffed BAD on the tackle, but he was unsure what to do without possibly getting a pass interference call against him OR unneccessary roughness. If Williams hit Diggs from that angle at that time, it would have been flagged for hitting a defenseless receiver. If Williams hadn't been up against Diggs getting that catch, he probably would've made the play that was likely to end the game. Even against Thelen, Williams would have probably made the tackle or at least enough effort to get him slowed down to end the game. Williams mis-timed the play, but the worst part is taking out the only other Saints player that could have stopped the TD! Both teams played fantastic in the last half of that final quarter. The last 3 minutes was crazy on both sides of the ball.
I'm still happy that I got to watch a large portion of that game today, plus a good chunk of the AFC game. My siblings and I threw a totally SURPRISE birthday party for my Mom's 60th Birthday today! Her birthday is Wednesday (the 17th) and her mother's birthday is the 26th, so we expected that she would assume a family gathering for both birthdays next weekend. She had no idea that my brother, my sister and myself were going to work out this surprise for her a few days early! It was great!!! My sister invited family and friends in advance. My brother got Mom away from the house for a couple of hours today while my sister and I decorated and made food. When my Mom and brother got back from town, it looked like a Used Car Lot in the driveway. At first, she was concerned. Then she realized what was happening. I wish I had my camera (or even my cellphone) when she got out of the truck. She was grinning ear-to-ear! A picture would have been great at that moment. After the surprise wore off and lunch had been eaten, she got presents and then cake/ice cream. I DID have my camera for all the presents and the cake.
As the party winded down and people went home, she migrated to the TV where I had the game on. She watched the final 5 minutes of game-clock (we ALL know that means at least half an hour). I think she was more excited than I was when the Vikings won the game! I'm guessing that was one of the most exciting plays to end a football game that she's ever seen.
SO, on Sunday 1/21, we have the #2 seed Vikings @ the #1 seed Eagles with the victor going to the Super Bowl in.... MINNESOTA! Who has more to play for...? Both are playing for a shot at the SB, but the Vikings are playing to go home no matter what! Will the Vikings be playing in the dome or watching the game in the dome?!

Oh yeah, I don't know why I don't know this...
But, what the hell is SKOL? I know that means something, but I have no idea what it means.

Thanks Dan! That link helps some. I can't believe an Eagle wants to help explain a Viking, but...
I seriously have no finish to that sentence!!!
I guess we all just need to get together with a giant bowl of beer and enjoy some football! Personally, I'd prefer a bowl of chicken wings or tenders to go with some cups of beer while we watch the games!

As much of an Eagles fan as I am, I'm still more a fan of knowledge, so even if it's about the other team, it's always good to know and understand.
Plus, I was curious because I didn't know, and I figured I'd be seeing enough of it over the next week. :)
