My wife is doing some Pin-up photography and she would like to offer trading cards or something like that for her clients. Anyone have any idea of any site that produces custom cards or has a template so that I could work on some for her?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have done a bit of looking on this in the past as was going to try and make some for the kids teams.  I think it is going to depend on if she has access to photoshop or not and how many looking to do.  If she is looking to sell commercially while using a template, I might try and look at these sites as a suggestion:

The good news on the above is you purchase the template of your choice for commercial use and then can use it unlimited (unless the terms of agreement are different) and not have to pay anything further.  However, most of them are only a single template, so if looking to build a portfolio of different templates, may need to purchase a number of them upfront.  So, far I have only used GraphicRiver.   I have been pleased with the downloads I have purchased there for some projects.  I haven't done any trading card ones, but...  The last two offer template downloads for professional photographers which look really nice.  I am pretty sure we will be getting a template from photosolutions for the kids upcoming season to try out, but haven't yet so nothing to report.  

Other options are the create your trading cards online and order from a service.  These you can just upload the photos you want to use and organize online to their templates and they print them and send off to you.  Nice thing on these websites is no upfront costs and have a wide varierty to pick from, however, they are usually costly (especially if only ordering a few).

When I make custom cards for my blog, I do a google search to come up with ideas.  Most of the time lately I've gotten worried about Topps or some company seeing them and warn me about using their designs, so I just create my own.  It takes a while to come up with ones I really like, but ones I do I can just save the template and place it over the photos I use.

As for software I know a lot of people use GIMP, but for me, I just use Paint.  However, I do know that Topps now will make custom cards, but I don't know much about it.  All I know is you upload a photo and you can see what it looks like.  On their site you can add information on the front and back of the card, and then you can order it.  I don't know about pricing or turnaround or anything, but its an option to check out I guess.

As for the cards. I think she is looking for a set of up to 15 cards per model to Give out at events or as advertising. It was funny I gave the wife some cards to see what she may like to use, modern, vintage and low an behold she likes the old school feel  for cards. The early seventies style. Would have thought she would have liked the modern.

Now if I do these myself, where to get the card stock? She prefers a thicker card stock. Suggestions??

Depending on your location, most office supply stores or copy centers have or can get pretty much any paper stock made. A local print shop might also be an option. Don't forget that whatever stock you select has to work with your printer, so unless it is a higher end commercial machine your thickness options are likely going to be limited by that. That's another area where a local copy center or print shop may be of assistance, as they almost certainly have the capability to work with material thicker than your home equipment can handle.
