Well let the discussions begin ............. I'm personally not a big fan of it, not a complete miss but certainly not a homerun. I think that Desert Knights sounds a little meaner, plus the logo is going to have to grow on me. But then what do I know my favorite team is called the Oilers, some day something the planet wont even want !! =P

I'm fine with Knights, not so much the Golden part. I hope like the Devil Rays did, they drop the first part after a couple years. However it could be worse, they could be the Baby Cakes. That's the new name for the AAA team for the Marlins.
With all that out of the way let me again gripe about how I hate hockey teams exist in warmer climate cities and deserts.

Baby Cakes ......... that made my early morning coffee worth it !!! ROFL As for simply going with Knights, they tried but the London Knights of the OHL (CHL junior team) has the rights and would not allow Vegas to use it.

I don't like any warm weather hockey team. Just seems sacrilege to me. And I don't like them using the US Army Parachute Team's name. And the logo is a Spartan helmet not a knight's helmet.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Not a big fan of them using the US Army Parachute teams name either but the owner is a West Point grad so that is cool. I like the logo and I am happy they have a team in Vegas. When I went to Vegas always saw a minor league team play there and had lots of fun.

Trying to acquire one card for every for every set, insert, parralle, minor, euro, team issue, oddball etc sets produced for Hockey. Been an interesting project.

In that case, it makes complete sense. I like it.

Terrible name all the way around. Makes me think of USMA, the Black Knights of the Hudson. Pick an animal or simply go with the Vegas Dealers or the LampLighters

It is a lackluster name. No cultural significance, no geographical signficance, no significance at all. It's as if the owner wanted a hockey team called the Golden Knights when he was 12 and stuck with the name no matter what. Glad it's not my team I have to root for
