As a Kenseth fan, I began following Daniel Suarez and William Byron after MK's retirement. I do enjoy watching Chastain as well. None of them is quite the same commitment of fandom though. What did you think of MK being inducted to the HOF? I am glad he got in and feel like it was well-deserved (despite my favoritism toward him).

I will bet those holo points are just frangible (or however you spell it) bullets. Designed to fragment on impact and not potentially go through house walls. The idea is that they stop on impact not potentially injure others in populated area. Very common for home defense for 38’s, etc. I have a neighbor who does lots of gun safety instruction. Very interesting guy.

Kenseth, Deserves to be in the hall more than a few others that are in there. As for the Kyle thing, BNASCAR cant penalize him cause it was a mistake. Its like it was on him or he was using it. And I agree, Mexico would rather have his money than keep him in jail. I am a MTJ fan since I met him, But if he is going to retire after the season. It will be on his terms. And he isnt one of these drivers that needs the attention of a last year for the fans. But when he does Chastain looks like front runner for replacement.

Thanks for that reply Greg! I actually originally typed "hollow-points for a 38" but then removed that part. I figured that there was something I was missing about such a common pistol. The only gun (with explosive charge) that I have ever fired was a 38 Police Special revolver and they have such a small bullet. I didn't see why a hollow point would even be made for one, but that makes more sense now. I'm not a fan of guns (not opposed to others having them though), so I have refused the opportunities to fire a .357, a rifle and a shotgun. Those are the only opportunities presented to me in my life so far. I have fired plenty of air-powered guns though and own two CO2-powered BB pistols. But they always stay at my house. I really only use them these days to test my aim and eyesight.
I hope you've been doing well Greg! We haven't chatted in a while.

How about that weekend of racing in Daytona?!!! I saw at least some of all 4 big races there. The truck race was really entertaining. The ARCA race was a lot of go and then stop, but still a good one. I caught much of that race. The NXS and Cup races were really good ones to watch. I'm glad there was a new winner in the ARCA and Cup races though. The only downer to the CTS and NXS races was the same driver that won last year also won this year. The longest D500 ever did not disappoint though! It was a crazy race and mostly not due to a bunch of big wrecks. JJ, Pastrana and Daly were all in the mix for a Top-10 finish until the very end. Rowdy and Bubba were in contention for the win until the very end as well. I'm just glad BKes STILL didn't get a win after the overaggressive moves he made late in the race. At the end of the race (every year), he is just trying to remove as many cars in front of him as possible in any way he can. He'll never win the 500 like that. I still can't believe that Ryan Blaney managed to finish 8th after serious damage to the right front of the car early in the race.

I agree 100% all the races were great. Love the fact the 500 was 2 wide pretty much whole race and the wrecks didnt come till late in the race. & I was ok with Ricky winning, Ya Blaney and Truex both got wrecked and still managed a great finish even tho their cars, were in rough shape.

NASCAR still has a major problem calling late race cautions that really don't need to be.....
Both Xfinity and Cup could have held the last caution and let the leaders race to the flag....
They did manage to bring the scheduled cautions down to 6 laps from the 8 last year....

I thought it was a great weekend of racing. Looking forward to whatever else may come this season. Congrats to Stenhouse on winning his first 500. I believe he has now won all of the "plate" events (both Talladega and Daytona races) offered in Cup.

Gutted that Pastrana missed the top 10 in the end. I do passionately believe that one of the best ways for Nascar to build its fanbase is though bringing in more stars from the rest of the racing world. The reason, in my mind, why football, basketball, baseball, and hockey stand out as the bug 4 in this country is you expect the best players from these sports playing in the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL respectfully. Getting guys like Pastrana involved, a la Kimi last year, is a great step towards getting more talent involved in the Cup series. Obviously there will never be a single unified racing league globally simply because there are so many types of racing, but they're making strides in the right direction.

I totally agree with you about the phantom cautions at the end. The NXS race was more subtle but Hill shouldn't have won that one. The Cup race was blatant though. Why did they throw a flag for Suarez spinning off-track without hitting anyone or anything? Kyle Busch should have won that race. There was no debris left behind, he wasn't in the way of anyone racing, and nobody was going to come to pit road in the final 3 laps. It was ridiculous to throw a flag there. NASCAR just really likes the field bunched up at the end to create extra chaos.
