Missed most of the ARCA race, went to eat...
Truck race a bit blah....
Missed lap 20 to 31 F1, had to help someone get somewhere....
Slept through at least half of Indy....
The 600 didn't really hold my attention...
Final half of the xfinity race wasn't really bad, but ran too late for my taste...
The whining did get Chase suspended, though the incident wasn't close to the one with bubba...
Chase crossed half a lane, bubba crossed the entire track....

A worthy suspension no matter what the Chase fans think. NASCAR has to put an end to this stuff. It's dangerous, unnecessary and someone will get hurt eventually. It's not that guys are retaliating, it's how they're doing it.

Just another aspect of how bad the car design is....
If the only way you can get by another car is to basically sideswipe it..
Then you don't have a good enough car... Though it's the design does that....
When parity is destroying the ability of a team to make their car drive better
than the others, then you have ruined racing....
Though, it's not really racing, it's entertainment for the TV audience....
Hard to see any rule in the last 25 years that hasn't been to put in place for the TV Networks...

Absolutely agreed. I used to watch everything NASCAR -- races, qualifying, practice, all series. Didn't matter. I was into it. Then it was a rule change I didn't like, then another and another and another. And finally it dawned on me, why am I even watching? I stopped around 2016 or so. I've only recently even started watching passively the past year or two. I'm way more into F1 now, and NASCAR is usually just background while I'm doing other things.
Hoping NASCAR can work on getting the car better. But lowering the racing standards to make it more TV friendly is sad to see. Racing has always had to carefully balance sport vs. entertainment (all sports do), but it's going more and more toward entertainment. Take away the cars, and I see WWE.

I thought the F1 race was boring till the rain, That kinda made it interesting. The Indy was same old Indy, Glad no one go whit with the tire.I like that they tried to get it to finish under green ya it kinda favored one driver over the other but To see first time winner is always exciting. The Truck race was good the Xfinity even tho it ran late was a really good race , Love when something like fuel comes into play.
As for the 600 I thought it was a great race, they had comers and goers all thru the race. There was alot of drivers that got loose under another car coming out of turn 4 especially and it made for some excitement. I am glad for once NASCAR made the right call and gave the golden boy the same penalty as they did, for the same issue they had last year. Its one thing to fight after wards, But when using 2300 pound cars as weapons, anything can happen. Plus the 100's of thousand dollars that both team basically threw away now. Makes it even worse.
All in all I am a racing fan and will watch anything on wheels. As long it isn't boring. I thought it was another great weekend of racing, and they all payed proper tribute to the men and women who have been lost fighting for our freedom.

600 pushed to a day I was working, and to an earlier time (I prefer it as a later race - Juan Pablo Montoya's legendary jet-dryer incident being one of my favorite racing moments from my earlier years). Fox didn't have a replay for some reasons so I had to watch the highlights. I for one am far from shocked that Denny Hamlin was involved in an other intent-crashing incident, though am somewhat surprised he was on the receiving end this time.

Very true. I love how him, Joey and few others over drive every rave and get into trouble. But think that after the race saying " Sorry, I was my fault, that's racing. " will make up for the damage they cause

Well, what I had planned on Sunday didn't happen cause of injury so I caught F1 and Indy. F1, as expected in Monaco, was bland mostly. Once Max had the pole everyone knew what was going to happen there outside of car failure. Being as dominant as he was though...
Indy was Indy and that's a good thing. I'm sure they'll doing some heavy investigation on how the tire tether got busted but thankfully no one got hurt. Was pulling for Marcus to win, but Newgarden pulling it out like he did was great for the Series.

Wow, a lot less discussion this year than last year.
I was happy with the finish of the NASCAR race even though I'm not sold on city courses in NASCAR yet. A few exciting moments, so it wasn't a total bore. I wish I didn't miss the Indy race though. The F1 is becoming a bit predictable but had a little excitement as well. Perez really moved up to a nice finish.
I'm glad NBC has the coverage now because I don't think I'll miss many races, but I still prefer most of the Fox announcers over NBC. Dale Jr. was once good but now seemed to give less analysis and more screaming.

Shane van Gisbergen was the 5th foreign driver to win the race in Chicago, and was the first to have a debut since 60 years ago when Johnny Rutherford won at Daytona. Andretti, Ross, Suarez and Montoya were the other four.
Shane was from New Zealand, and was born the same day as Keith Whitley's death.
