Good day everyone,
SO , the straw that broke this camels back among the countless others .....
I had not used Oh Boy! in a couple of months and as usual they always improve(sarcasm)
NOW they charge taxes, on out of state out of country purchases to me as a seller WT and what comes after E?
I was going to give it a chance, primarily use it more for advertising my website, and as i was trying to put an invoice together for someone rediscovered just how glitchy and crappy their workings are.
NOW all the gloves are off and this weekend sometime if i get a second from pulling cards for orders i am going to pull out some bigger boy cards all for a mere dime to further celebrate my liberation from ebay.
Strange how if you end an auction you can actually sell things at the price you want but can't do buy it now listings for less than?
Free at last!

I haven't done ebaty for a long time. The last thing I bought there was a 1968 OPC Ryan RC. I had to find it in Canada to avoid the ridiculous charge for cutoms processing on an item that there is no duty on coming to Canada. Haven't missed it one bit, mainly thanks to this site.

Not eBay's fault. Congress authorized the taxing of Internet purchases. More and more state governments, the ones who have been pushing for it, seeking the additional revenue stream quickly instituted measures to collect those taxes. States started earlier this year and more keep adding into the pile.

Which is a shame because they had it going on once upon a time, they still do to a certain extent,
but it keeps getting worse and obviously we pay for a site that has that traffic we want BUT along with it too many technical glitches that are an absolute turn off, remember turbo lister?
Yeah more nightmares than benefits with an overly crazy fee ramp hey let's take a cut on shipping too etc...

So I buy an item from a guy in Japan, Ebay is taxed on that transaction, but instead Ebay forwards that tax as an itemized line item on my invoice. By this logic, it would mean (for example only) that TCDB would have to pay tax on purchases that members make from each other, because TCDB is doing the same thing as Ebay being the facilitator of the transaction.

I'm glad we were able to get the transaction worked out in spite of eBay.
Hope we can do business again soon!

Hate to be a downer (upper?), but I have no problems with eBay. The selection is amazing. If you're careful, you don't get ripped off. An auction actually determines the price, which is about as fair as you can get. Shipping costs are up to the seller and buyer. The fees are for the convenience and I accept that. I've never had to deal with a glitch in their system. I've been able to sell every card I don't need in my collection for enough to make it worthwhile (except for my first sale, years ago, of three cards for .01, but live and learn). My collection and enthusiasm would both be greatly diminished without eBay. It has its flaws, but the advantages are greater.
Then again, I don't complain about the Post Office, either.

I have no problem with Ebay nor the Post office. Without both, I'd be up to my neck in cards, now I'm only up to my a-a-a-a. As for the sales tax, it was not Ebay's idea. Made more work for them. Again blame the pols who try to squeeze every nickel they can out of you.
