Sorry for bringing up a thread from a few days ago, but I have a question: how late in life is it too late to switch your fandom?

Seriously. I grew up a Brady and Patriots fan. He is the one big football name I collect. One of the first football games I can remember watching was the Super Bowl in 2002 when the Patriots beat the Rams. As my interest in NFL football lessened as I got into high school, and all but disappeared when I got into college, I found myself sucked back into it via fantasy football a few years ago. I realized that while I still enjoyed watching the Patriots play, I was more of a Brady fan than a Pats fan - if he had a great game and they still lost, it didn't bother me one bit, whereas 8-year-old me was devastated with every loss.

As time went on, I got less and less attached to the New England franchise, and with the news Tuesday morning that Brady wasn't resigning there, I stopped caring entirely. When I heard he was headed to Tampa Bay...some of my old intrigue was back. I always loved the creamsicle uniforms. Mike Alstott is my favorite player to watch old highlights of. They have a cannon that fires when they score. All things considered...I'm ready to dive head-first into being a Buccaneers fan - not just because my favorite football player of all-time will now be under center for them, but I've felt lost in the football world for a few years, rooting for a few guys here and there so I could win $100 in a fantasy league. I didn't feel like I had a team to call mine. I think I might now! I'm not ashamed to jump on board the band-"ship" that's sailing out of Tampa in the fall!

I'm sure there is PLENTY of room on the Bucs 2020 Bandwagon. No shame in following the GOAT wherever he lands because well... he's the GOAT. Who doesn't appreciate any team that shoot cannons every time their team scores?! Beats the heck out of a duck doing push-ups or some other stupid act. 

I am EXCITED man.  It's been years since I have been this excited.  I actually hope that Jameis is signed as a backup and stays in Tampa.  Has Brady EVER had weapons like he's going to have this year?

With Brady's preference for the quick short pass, Coach Arians' slogan will have to change to "No brisk it, no biscuit".

Nothing wrong with changing to be a Bucs fan. I've been a fan since high school, during the beginning years of the Lynch, Sapp, Brooks era. We will gladly take some more fans on our bandwagon. 

I have all my eggs in the Bucs basket this year. The Blackhawks did not do well and the season is pretty much done, the White Sox have so much potential this year, but how many games will be played heand how well will they do? The  Dayton Flyers were absolutely fantastic with big man Obi Topping and then the tourney gets cancelled. 

Here's hoping the NFL season is played and the Bucs go far in the playoffs!!

@Jason - Who cares?! You clearly only followed the player. If you had a true team-alliance before that, then you have a conundrum. Stick with the player you like, no matter where he goes. I still collect cards of several players who left my favorite teams for another team.

When I was a kid in the 1980's and early 90's, I rooted for the 49ers only because of Jerry Rice and also the Packers b/c of the team colors. I also liked the Patriots just for the horrible uniforms they wore in the 80's. But then the Packers got Favre and the Pats got Bledsoe, so I rooted for the teams even more. But then the Carolina Panthers came along in the 1995 season. I finally had a home team! So of course I dumped the 49ers as my "favorite team" b/c they were in the same division where the Panthers were put. The Panthers have been my #1 team since they started and the Packers remained my #2 all this time (even after Favre left and later retired). The Pat's stayed my #3 team when Bledsoe was replaced by Brady. If I hadn't been collecting NE cards all those years there is no telling how PO'd I'd be now about trading away Brady RC's when they were worth about $3!!! Thankfully I didn't trade them and still have some highly valuable cards of the current greatest QB of all time. BTW, I rooted for the Packers b/c my school-colors in middle school and high school were green and gold. Oddly though, we were the Eagles. I guess that's how Reggie White became my all-time favorite DE. He was an Eagle, then a Packer and finally a Panther!!!
