So....I bought this pretty patch card off of Ebay, and I'm actually a bit stumped. It's a 99/00 Pacific Omega jersey, card #1
After doing a lot of research, this jersey set was apparently a last minute addition to this year of Omega. There are 10 cards, none are numbered, and to my knowledge, no "patch variations" exist. I have never seen one or heard of variations of these cards with an actual patch. I can't find any pictures, listings, or anything regarding a patch. I know Titanium and Private Stock, among other Pacific brands, had patch variations. Those were also numbered. The card even says "Game Worn Jersey" on it - as opposed to "Game Worn Patch" or anything similar to note it being a patch.
So, my question is, did I find a rare gem? I love the card, but as for my collection, I already had it - just not this nice. Any hockey collector know or hear of anything like this before? Any collector find a similar thing? - where you can't find a listing for what you have in a high-volume set?
Thanks for any input!

I have never seen anything like that bear. I am sure you are a better digger than alot of us here so will trust you have done your research. To me that looks like some kind of gem. Where did you buy and was it a bargain?

Originally, the guy had it as a $70 BIN. It didn't sell, so he relisted it for like $60 BIN. After it didn't sell again, he just put it up for auction. I won the auction for like $18.
I knew I had never seen a patch for that set. I had to double and triple check my need-list, and I couldn't find a patch listed. I'm just amazed how all other cards I've seen are plain-Jane one color swatches, and this is a 3-color patch - an actual patch. So technically, I already have this card, but it will replace my previous card.

Those are just jerseys - mine is a patch. There aren't any patches listed for that set.

I know that in the NBA at that time period patches were not treated any differently from standard relic inserts. The first set that differentiated between patch and standard wasn't until 2001-02, and even at that, they didn't quite get it right...they included arm hole opening border and painted pinstripes! (They did include actual patches, too) I personally pulled multiple patches that were not treated as special- just another part of the jersey. Is it possible the same happened for the NHL?
It could also have been faked...I don't see any of the telltale signs of damage around the jersey window opening though.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Ok, so you're saying that yours has part of a patch from the jersey, such as lettering from the back of the jersey or from his number, not just a plain swatch of material?

Analog - yes, exactly
Billy - It's a tight card - definitely not a fake. It's totally legit, I guess you could be right about your NBA card comparison.
It's just odd because there are not only no listings for patches, but I've also never even seen one from this set.

Well as much as you hate them, Beckett might have an answer or maybe Cardboard Connection if you were to contact them. Maybe send it away to have it graded, I am sure they would not grade a fake. But if your gut is saying it isnt one Billy's answer may be the only one that would make any sense.
