This is a bit long overdue, but I need to express my extreme gratitude to not only the Admin of this fantastic website, but to all of the members that I have executed trades with. It has truly been a lot of fun. The generosity, the things I've learned and of course the excitement of going to the mailbox every day. I've now completed well over 200 trades here. These have been with 80 different members on this site. I have nearly 100 positive feedback and an even 100 'friends' on this website. I have traded with people in 31 different US States, 3 different Canadian Provinces and now Australia. Thousands of cards have passed through the mail. Only one that I sent didn't make it to its destination and was lost in the mail (I followed the tracking and it got lost in the Grand Rapids, MI warehouse somewhere). It all started with cmalloyy in October 2014 with Trade ID #131. Now, I just had Trade ID#5833 accepted. I remember a time when most of the 'Completed Trades' here were mine and there was maybe one a month getting completed. Now it is several a day, every day that are getting completed.
Thank you again to everyone here that have traded with me. I truly appreciated it.
Thank you again to Admin for continuing to develop such a great space for documenting, inventorying and setting up an easy to use transaction system. The ONLY thing (and i think it is minor) I could see as an improvement might be a place for putting a Tracking number in the transaction manager or a drop down letting you know how the package is sent (i.e. PWE vs. bubble mailer vs. box, etc.) These might not make the next round of improvements, but I'm always eager to see each step of great improvements that you've made. Thank you for making this so easy to use and fun.
Thank you to all the members who share their passions and goals to keep this site organized and accurate.
I'm looking forward to the next 200 trades and I hope I can be the milestone Transaction ID #10,000!
-Dan

Dan,
Well said and I could reiterate everything you expressed other than the # of trades. Being in Canada, there are still some shy to make trades this way. But enough members soouth of the border are discovering that there are worth while trades across the border. I know we've traded 2 or 3 times. I too have traded as far away as Australia, probably with the same member. My collection has grown by almost 5000 cards and my pile of commons has shrunk by over 6000 (though you can't really tell there is a dent in the 400,000 cards).
Thanks all who have traded with me. And thanks Admin for making it so easy to propose, accept and complete a trade all the while updating our collections at the same time.
Bruno

I concur! I've been trading online since the year 2000 and I've pulled off the two largest trades I've ever been a part of on here. What I like the most about this site is there are generally no people who are jerks, unlike most other websites, No knowitalls (except possibly myself, lol) no people who get their fun by denigrating other collectors, nobody in it just for the money, etc. We have real collectors here and that is why it's so great.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. It was me ranfordfan. It took some 4-6 weeks for you to finally receive the cards (I mailed them within a couple of days of accepting the trade), the longest shipping time I ever experienced in card trading and it was as you said, canuck to canuck. Hope it wasn't the shipping time that soured you from trading.

LOL well there you go!! I will trade at some point but I really do not have alot of commons, I may surprise myself once I get there but I am still busy using my alter ego (oilerRCguy .... thanks for the reply BTW) entering my Oiler RC collection / Wantlist. I did my Ranford list first and once te RC list is done then its on too my inventory, it takes a long time to get all this stuff entered. =) I am on 2007-08 so ten years of sets to update / enter yet to finish up the minor league stuff and between life, work and the likes I may not be trading for another year. DOH!

How quick you forget. We had a "transaction" facilitated through a forum thread.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Trading is the best part of a site like this IMO, and I hope to build up a nifty trade history here. Admitedly I'm a Zistle user who is still hesitant to commit to a full site changeover, partly because I wasn't sure what the trading atmosphere was like here.
In poking around this site a bit and entering some cards, it seems like this site is tailored for set builders. What player and team collectors?

Nope, olerud. This site is tailored to suit your own personal collection goals. And in trading, you can find all of those players you seek and trade for them by sending what others seek even if they are set builders. I know some of my trades were with colelctors of specific teams, e.g. Indians, Royals and Cardinals and others were set builders. Greatest collectors site because it is really managed by the members with Admin oversight.
