I've been a little busy so I have not really worked on it. I have not done any scanning or posting the scans I've already made either. Not enough time in the day...Hopefully soon.

Along those to do list type of things...I'm looking at 2013 Panini National Treasures football insert Century Materials Black, and no team names are next to players (except for 2) but there is no blue check teams box at top. Wondering how this could happen. No big deal, I can add team names and then I know it will be done.

Quick check shows 1397 deleted from 28 Oct. I know for the ones I have been checking there are alot of marked as verified that I clicked. that have been deleted. Looks like non sports increased. Keep up the good work.

I make sure to verify names and teams for every single set I add somthing to, especially since TCDB added teams for Racing drivers. I've mostly been working on the newest Panini Racing set (Torque) for the past couple of weeks. But any time I add a card to my collection here, I make sure to check out the Validation links.

Since I was made aware of this requirement, I have done the same.  It is a great help in making sure that you have spelled all of the names correctly and used the right one for the database.  Still unsure of what to do with some that are not of actual people such as animals or plants.

I've been thinking about that too.  We can currently categorize Names as either real Person or Fictional character, but sometimes it would be nice to be able to categorize a card's subject as a place or thing as well.

First, thanks to AvsBruins for posting updated numbers last week. We are now 3 weeks into this.

High level numbers:

• Before we started (10/21/16) - 17,047 sets needed name validation
• As we started (10/28/16) - 16,846 (already 201 less)
• Three weeks in (11/18/16) - 15,387 (down 1,660 from 10/21)

What I'm seeing:

I'm seeing a lot of sets come back into the list of unverified. The way the site works, any time a name is edited after all names have been verified, the "check names" button comes back. Please be aware of this, and click through and clear the set. I'm still finding plenty of sets with no cards left.

I've been working primarily in Baseball (the sport I know the most about), and then mostly in the minor league stuff. (There's a lot of Asian league sets that I am hoping someone with knowledge of those players can help with.) I have been finding 3 scenarios:

1. Name misspelled
2. Use of proper name in early sets (ex., Daniel when they go by Dan the rest of their career)
3. Player just not added

The third option is the easiest, however, if you're working on this, please be careful you're not adding a duplicate entry for a player. (Yes, I've found a few of those along the way too.) Working in baseball, we're lucky, we have a couple websites we can use to find out info about players. If I run across a "Daniel" and there is already a "Dan" with that last name, I see what other card sets he was in (MiLB sets are easy - they give the team name right in the set name), and check his stats to see if the set I'm working in is the same player. Is this an easy process? No. But to have the most accurate data here, it's what we need to do.

Anyway, just wanted to share some stats and thoughts. The progress is slow, but it is moving in the right direction (for most categories). Keep it up! Thanks.

Thanks for the tip Dan as I was not aware of the name edit part. Will not let it happen again, as for websites for player name info I use the following for hockey, it is quite an extensive reference site.

I went to the main site, http://www.sports-reference.com and paid $20 for one year of ad-free use. It is good across the board for all the first four sites Vroomed listed. Amazing amount of information. The only sport I need information on now is early CFL Football players. Any help out there?
