You're at the right place! Oh wait...these are only guidelines.
If the senior people here at TCDB do not believe that the industry standard for baseball card scans, similar to a baseball unwritten rule, is unlike the guidelines here at TCDB, so be it. New members will continue to be confused, thousands of data points will continue to be undocumented, and the forums will stay dead other than the occasional questioning of some obscure cards in which this community is outstanding at answering.
I see so much unrealized potential, but maybe that is not the direction this community wishes to take.

Bluerefractor, you've been directed to the FAQs for scanning, been told what to do about cropping, and been offered help by gpgoodman. You haven't been able to point to whatever this "industry standard" is but that doesn't matter since this site has its own spelled-out standards that most of the members don't seem to have a problem with. Don't upload photos, fully crop your images, and make sure they're not crooked, and you'll probably be all set. If someone is incorrectly rejecting or flagging scans, that's a problem for Admin. There's no "senior people here at TCDB" and no "unrealized potential" (just like there's no "industry standard" that applies to TCDB) but there are plenty of people that will help you, so please take them up on that or just try following the guidelines you've been pointed to.

I just had scans rejected for being a photo but it wasn't and one that was rejected for low quality. But they are Topps Project 70 cards that are in thick plastic so I guess that's why there are so many Project 70 images missing. My other scans were accepted just not the ones that were plastic slabs

Are the Project70 cards encased or just in regular toploaders? If they're slabbed somehow you can try cropping out everything but the card, but if the quality's not good enough aftering doing so you may need a different scanner (CCD). Otherwise, just remove the cards from their toploaders and try again.

It's not in a top loader, it's a sticker sealed slab that I'm not going to break. The scanner is fine, it's the fact that it's gonna be not as good quality scanning through a thick plastic case. I did crop the slab and sticker out but still rejected.

The Project70 cards are in One-Touch magnet holders with a Topps sticker on top. I scan them in the holder and crop it out the case. I have a CCD scanner so the images come out nice.
