Now I can make those fixes in 73T baseball. I was in there yesterday and the Playoffs cards had links that I didn't think should be there. I meant to double check the FAQ tonight before making the changes..saved me some time :)

What about a set like this? Recognizable players, but no names. I like it the way it is, but didn't see anything like this on Big Ed's list. Some have one player. Some have two.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

My opinion, the Name field should be the short phrases on the card ("Turning Two!", "Play at the Plate!", etc.). The links to the players and teams....ehhhhhh. Not named specifically but for the most part clear who they are. That's where it gets cloudy

A couple clarifications from BigEd's nearly perfect post.
Admin has allowed us to link people on team cards whether those players are specifically identified or not.
Multi-player cards with cute names should be formatted as either:
Cute Name
(players linked in the link area)
-or-
Cute Name (Player 1 / Player 2 / ... / Last Player)
(players linked in the link area)
Admin has shown a preference to the second method.
Anyway, copying Ed's original post:
-- Card for solo player/person and identified as such = only that person gets linked (yes)
-- Card for multiple players/people and identified as such (e.g. "Team Leaders" or "Top Prospects" or "Rookie Stars") = only those people get linked (yes)
-- Team Card / Team Photo, no specific players identified on front = no links to people (Actually, Admin allows players to be linked when they can be verified without question)
-- Team Card / Team Photo, manager/coach identified on front = only the manager/coach gets linked (yes)
-- Checklist, no specific player images identified on front (e.g. your standard "1-100" checklist) = no links to people (yes)
-- Checklist, specific player image(s) recognizable but not actually identified on the card (e.g. a player photo in the background of a checklist) = Name field should say "Checklist", and I've seen cases with or without links to the player (What's the rule on these?) (The player should be linked, the player's team should be linked)
-- Checklist, specific player images identified on front (e.g. a "Young Guns" checklist) = only those people get linked (yes, as well as their teams)

Thanks for the clarification on that Team Card/Photo one. Obviously we shouldn't do 25-30 player links on every Team Photo card, but the ones of players high-fiving or a playoff pic involving 2-3 players where nobody specific is mentioned, those are the ones that can be confusing, especially with the "no background player linking" rule.

When it's a Dodgers card and two Dodger players are high-fiving in front of a Giants catcher, only the 2 Dodger players should be linked.

Correct. My question is more about cards like this one:
Right now there are no players linked on this card. Should Dave Anderson and Jesse Orosco be?

As well as anyone else who can be positively identified on that card. Tim Leary, Ricky Horton, Ron Perranoski, etc.

I had no idea that Colin Powell card existed, I have added it to my wantlist.
The linking checklists and random team cards to people is why I can't use the Database's stats for actually determining what is in my collection. I understand it's done to cater to the player collector, but it completely invalidates it to me. That's been the case since I joined up, luckily I keep that info on Excel anyway, and much more detailed than just a total number at that.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. For a set like this:
https://www.tcdb.com/Checklist.cfm/sid/141630/1991-RacingLegendsCooCooMarlin
Since Coo Coo Marlin is the only name on the front, based on what I read, cards also showing his wife should have her name removed, or not, since she is mentioned in the text on the back? Or Marty Robbins or anyone else appearing on a card with Marlin?
