It's a nice rule.

It would be nicer if it were actually enforced.  Otherwise, not much point in stating the rule.  Enforcing it only if there is a glitch that requires cleanup isn't much of a rallying cry.

I'm not complaining about what anyone has said, but I see a lot of site members repeatedly dumping a lot of copied, mock up, etc poor to medium quility pics into places I collect.  Not to mention a lot of the really poor set photos they instantly populate every insert/parallelel selection with because of this.  I like contributing to a benificial site and this is not a really big deal with what is really important in my life, but it does lessen my desire to keep adding my pics.

But for a more JOYFUL perspective that involves TCDb, my mailman just delivered a really awesome Jerome Bettis card today for a hard to collect set and I handed him a zucchini bread that my wife made.  He liked the Christmas one and snapped this one up as well.  Smiles all around.  ... and I scanned it into the set.  All is well.

I always have assumed the old timers at the top of the points list are either personal friends and family of Admin, Admin himself, or being paid by Admin to scan non-stop, day and night. Admin has had about 12 years to tell them to stop submitting scans that don't adhere to "the rules", but he hasn't, so it must not be that important to him.

While you were on sabbatical admin changed position from "do it right" to "any crap  is better than an empty slot". My words, not his. It's hurt the database significantly now that he's allowing photos, fractions of cards, whatever somebody posts. Look through the Scans need replacing tag and you'll see some absolute garbage that should be deleted. 

It makes me wonder why I still bother to put so much effort in...I just hope Admin will realize this was a mistake and fix it eventually. 

I stopped adding my Marino collection for just that reason. Why should I bother adding scans the right way when people are allowed to add garbage? I'll start back up again if it's changed, but no motivation to do so with the current status quo.

Man, I was just killing time last night doing some cropping and I saw that someone had submitted some cards for review. Except that they were photos, not scans, still in top loaders, and crooked as well. I just shook my head and walked away. Apparently this is the status quo?

Doogie, you actually help the site by marking them as Problem and selecting the correct reason. They will probably be accepted by someone else now.

Length of membership does not equal degree of competence. Everybody was new at one point. I wonder how many people have looked at the site, saw some horrible image - or an image of one of their SN cards- and left, never to return, thinking we are clueless, thieves, or both? 

Apparently the same person is consistently posting the 2020 Topps images (did it again tonight) and they're close to the 10K needed for L8 membership (they've been around over 3 years), which is probably why they continue to do it
