It happens a lot. When I put a trade out there I leave it on a month. If no responce I withdraw it.

There have been times I haven't noticed I've gotten messages until I read my email letting me know. I have sometimes missed messages by a few days because of this. When I read them I don't always respond immediately because I think of how to reply.
That being said whether I decide to accept or decline a trade offer (usually I decline because I'm slow on shipping stuff and don't want the trader to worry if or when they'll get cards), I always return a message. To me that's common courtesy, and even if I decline, it leaves the door open for a possible future trade. Hearing no response from someone would just make me want to add the to a list of people I don't want to trade with because they don't take time to respond.

As was iterated in the last couple of posts I'll generally leave it for a couple of weeks and if I don't hear anything back I'll remove it. I'm not sure I've ever had to decline an offer (probably less than 20% of my trades were from offers) but I may have countered one or two. I find that the majority of people who actually want to trade will make an effort to do so.

My 2 cents worth Most of my trades are less the 4 cards
I have quit making offers for the most part. 1. I have withdrawn 10 offers after waiting 2 weeks or more. With several messages to the members with no replies. 2. main reason I need one or two cards and I have a lot of cards that they need. I want them to pick out the cards and not me.
Now when I get an alert I will message the member and ask if they are interested in a trade. 1. 10% I do get offers that way. 2. 10% I get NO thanks for many reasons. 3. 80% I get no replies.
I also send messages when I see I have 100s of cards that one member needs. I offer the members to set the price for any or all. 1. 95% I get no replies. 2. I 4% I get No Thanks to buying 3. 1% Have done a deal
No replies are frustrating.

If I propose a trade and hear nothing back after 1 week, I'll send a message. After 15 days if still nothing I will withdraw the trade.

Guilty as charged! I looked through my messages and saw that I missed one...yours. Please accept my sincerest apologies.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Chuck, that has to be the best picture of you I have ever seen.
But on that note, the message laert symbol of the envelope does not always appear by my name, so much so that I now have taken the habit of checking messages even when there is no envelope symbol.

I usually send a message first asking if they have time for a trade before I pull cards or take time to make an offer

The dreaded no response is very frustrating. I even see some members who say they are looking for trade partners so I try a request with no response.
My usual routine is to wait two weeks with an email after a week. When the two weeks are up I'll just withdraw the offer. I try to always send a message back quickly to a request that I receive. I have had to decline some trades because of multiple offers requesting the same card or cards.

I try to answer back within 1-3 days. What gets me is when I send an offer and it's declined without a response. Sure, it's their right. But, how am I supposed to know what I did wrong? Why not counter? I'm no expert with prices on football cards and I've had a few trades declined that involved football cards, and I have no idea if I did something wrong. I don't understand why some people won't respond, I'm not waiting over 2 weeks for a response when they log in daily.
