What does that card normally go for in a similar, but unaltered condition? If you're getting a deal on that card, I would try some light erasing to "shave" the beard. It might not ruin the surface too much

Ay-ay-ay! (Sigh) At least it doesn have sharp corners AND he clearly stated that the beard was pencilled in. I can't believe anyone bid on it, but maybe they had the same thought as ketchupman36.

I highly doubt that erasing attempts would do anything to improve the card. It would just give him a blond beard instead of a black one. I'm watching the listing and will report the final selling price.
To answer someone's question, a near mint version of this card is probably over $100, according to Beckett's.
