The two Jim Everett cards that I have came sealed, in a graded case, but not graded. My question is, where they all like that, and when uploading the image do I crop to the card or do I include the casing...? For the record, I cropped to the card and did not include the casing. And...umm...no laughing...General Blade was awesome...lol...Thanks for the advice ladies and gentlemen...

I might be wrong but I think cropping the case out to the card is the accepted way to go.

Mine is the Kosar card. It too was graded and slabbed. I cropped it to the card. I just noticed a Young card scanned in and uploaded WITH the slab...sent msg to admin because it should just be the card.

Looking on ebay just now, it looks as though ALL QBC jersey cards were slabbed by SCD. I'm guessing, since I did not see the cards released first-hand, they came as box tops or something similar.

The Steve Young card in mine. In a previous string I believe it was determined that because they were distributed slabbed, that it should be scanned with the slab to show the originlity of the card. If it isdetermined to be that it is just the card, then I can rescan, but I truthfully like the full scan.

Hey Grim, I hope you didn't take my post as a disparaging remark...not my intent. I too asked about 'factory slabbed' cards (I have some from Topps and Score) and the consensus was to crop out the slab. For these though, now that it seems they ALL came that way, maybe showing them slabbed is correct! Hmmmm.......I hate to make another 'rule' regarding scans of slabbed cards, i.e.the caveat being if it is factory slabbed (right out of the box like that), then it should include the slab and all. Should we put it up for a vote again? Ask admin to make a final ruling?

I think it was determined to crop out the slabs. Slabs aren't cards, just a protective casing like toploaders, penny sleeves, etc. A form of packaging. I've got cards that came in plastic packaging (cereal boxes) and are still sealed in the packaging. We don't scan those still inside the package. Just my POV.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

rayfromtexas, its all good. The only reason I piped in was because I was the one that started the string because I was not sure myself. Discussion, agreement, disagreement and opinion about these subjects are what make these types of forums fun and interesting, I am more than willing to change something if it benefits the group.

Still wondering that if it "came that way from the factory", maybe it should include the case. Maybe a question for admin.
