What's the deal with people entering cards still in a plastic sleeve? If cropping, should these be entered as a problem? Can we get a rulling from the umpires?

The image
guidelines state
that cards posted
should be as issued
by the
manufacturer. I
think sleeves
should be out.

I notice this lack of detail with a number of listings. I'm constantly reporting errors.

I'm personally all for the perfect crop...though I've made some poor crops I'm sure...

I have missed some parallels and other types myself, generally, when I find that I have, I report it as an error on my part. The cropping thing Is something I side with, although I expect no perfection, (Imperfection sometimes has to do with how the card is.) I strive for the best look the crop can give... And a scanner that allows a perfect scan... which until the cat hair gets in, my cannon usually does quite nicely. swiffer dry cloths deal well with dust and hair, I've found. has to be swiffer, though. knock off brands haven't any cling.

I've made a few
errors
myself...none of us
are perfect, try as
we might. I know
I've made a huge
mess with 1996
Pinnacle (NASCAR)
as I listed and
posted parallels as
base cards...I
didn't even know it
WAS a parallel set
until my mom gave
me what I thought
was the last card I
needed for
Christmas, yet it
turned out to be my
first base card,
and I was 1 card
short of the
parallel set. I
think! I have not
alerted the
Database yet,
because I'm still
not totally sure
what the correct
listing is.

I have a ton of early bad scans that i would like to correct. My problem is when cropping others' cards, there seems to be a plethora of the cards in the sleeve. Again, should they be deemed "problem" and not cropped?

No sleeve. It's not
part of the card.
The rules of the
Database clearly
state to show the
card as it was
issued by the card
companies. Of all
the cards I've
gotten new, only
one came in a
sleeve, and it'll
be taken out when I
get around to
scanning it. (my
only time pulling a
buyback, which was
placed into a
sleeve with a
separate
certificate of
authenticity.)

I'm certainly not without errors, but it's the die-cut cards I find hardest to scan. The sharp edges and sharp curvature is hard to crop sometimes.
