I rotate scans as needed on PhotoScape (a free program). I also use it to remove the fog put over scans by most scanners. I sometimes put a sheet of black construction paper behind die cuts, it somewhat enhances the look in my opinion.

Fog? I dont think I have ever had that problem and I have an old HP scanner/printer. Printer crapped out but the scanner still works well enough. I see the difference in your scans. I hope mine are not foggy and I just don't notice. Btw, to get to those links, you have to remove several spaces.

It's weird, my first scanner on my first computer didn't have that problem, but than that computer stopped working right, and the same scanner on the second computer did. The second and third scanner had it too. All three computer are HP, two scanners are Epson with the third, and the one I use for most scans these days, is Canon.

Ahh... I built my own pc... Maybe that's where the issue lies? I'm just grasping at straws really...

I started out with a Kodak all in one and found issues scanning white borders. printer head was busted and the parts didn't exist anymore, so I bought a canon Pixma MG2120. Besides the exorbitant difference in price for the ink, I think it was a good investment. No fog that I've noticed
