Years ago, when I got back into this hobby, I had a checklist of vintage cards that I made on a word processor in 1991 from a Beckett's price guide. Once I completed the vintage sets, I began working from 1992 towards the present. In searching online for checklists, I happened across this site, and it has been a valuable tool to keep an inventory of my collection and to know what I've yet to find. Having cards scans available to help with identification has been helpful as well.
Last May I had surgery and was off work for several weeks. I wasn't supposed to leave the house, but I made a drive to Best Buy and bought a scanner. There were more than 5,000 card images yet to be posted for cards in my collection and this gave me something to do while I was down. It was a bit of a learning process, figuring out how to get scans that auto crop didn't ruin, how to flatten Chrome cards that are bowed, realizing that foil cards will mostly always scan black and nothing you can do about that.
Nonetheless, 9 months and 6,372 scans later, I have scanned everything in my collection that is possible for me to scan. Some of them may be a little shaky but for the most part I've tried to upload good quality scans. I'm sure whichever one of you who dreamt up and created this site didn't envision it being filled with a bunch of crappy scans. So, if any of mine don't pass quality control, I'll gladly try to post an improvement. And I hope that my contributions will be helpful for other collectors as your contributions have been so helpful to me.
