So say that your dream card is currently for sale. There is only one way to get it which is giving up your entire collection and no longer able to collect cards and that is the only card you have. Do you take the offer? Personally I don’t have a true “dream card”. One of the coolest thing I would love to have in my collection is the 2019 World Series Winners Set Chrome Superfractor (Topps Now). Which the member Corky has on here.

At this point in my life, if it meant that every card in this house goes for one card, and it would be of significant value in that case, at my age, I'd probably do it. If you had asked me that in 2022 or earlier, I probably would have said no.

True, my kids are still young so I enjoy collecting with them. Definitely not a problem yet but would love to downsize the cards in my FS/FT list.

This would be tempting if someone wanted to offer me a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle for my collection. It would depend on the condition of the card of course. While I enjoy my collection, the thought of having something that liquid over a bunch of sets that would take years to move would be a huge perk. Then I could reevaluate my collecting priority and scale back on my collecting.

My dream card would be part of completing my collection so to choose it at the expense of the rest of my PC would not make sense to me.

Interesting question. I like it.
My answer would be NO.
The conditions of the offer: "and no longer able to collect cards and that is the only card you have."
That would mean sacrificing choices later in exchange for the instant gratification of getting whatever dream card I might want (at the time of the offer).
Yes, definitely a hard NO from me.

I don't have a dream card. I have a dream of completing many sets though.

My dream card is a silly SP rookie card of Jacoby Ellsbury, just because it's a pain to find, but I don't know if I would want to have that forever. I concur with vrooomed... if it means someone is taking my collection and enjoying it, I would probably do it. Letting go can be tough but it can be freeing as well.

I know the one you speak of, well, I think I do. I need it too, but for the master set.

My dream card would have to be a 1956 Sandy Koufax Rookie Card. It was the only one that I was missing from my Koufax collection outside of the 1963 Fleer card.
