I don't know if this topic has come up before, but if it has, please bear with me. On our Bally Sports station they air a show called "The Card Life" hosted by Phillie pitcher Matt Stramm. In the latest episode he profiled the creator of an APP called Collx. It is a free App, and though I downloaded it, I have not quite had it working properly. The premise of the APP is that you scan a card with your phone camera, and it will give you a current value based on recent sales activity. You can also keep track of your collection on there, and they are working on a trade, and buy and sell function, which may already exist there. Just wondered if anyone else has seen, or uses this App, and what your opinion is of it. Thanks ~ Ed

I have an app called "Center Stage" that looks up prices when you hold a card in front of your phone camera. It was nice to use when I was helping my dad look through his vintage collection. (We were pulling more valuable cards out of his monster boxes so they could be placed into top loaders to protect them better). It wasn't so good with obscure cards, but it handled flagship stuff very well. Not sure why I'd need an app for tracking my collection when I have TCDb, though, so I probably don't have much use for Collx. Curious to hear if anyone likes it, though.

I just used the App and it worked pretty well. This may be the answer to everyone wondering what their card is selling for, as the prices are gathered from ebay and other sales. I am sure you still need to use some common sense judgement on the results, but it does give another avenue to pricing questions. I will continue to use this great site TCDB for keeping track of my collection.

I'm using CollX on my iPad to track my Trout collection...some of the prices are way off! Not all cards have images. Not as good as TCDB by any means, but worth it to take my iPad to shows and see if I have a card or not.

I've used Collx. I think it's great for what it is. But I don't trust the comps in the app. But I think they are still working on it. If you have an iPhone, I like using NextGem if your goal is to log, view, share your collection. They also have card prices, but similar to Collx, it's not super accurate. I rather use 130point.com for comps.

I watch the same show and saw that segment the other day and downloaded the app. I think it is a great concept and can be a quick reference if I am at a show and need to see if a card is priced according to the market. I work for a software company catering to the Automotive industry and we provide an app for dealerships to be able to appraise vehicles based on several factors. And today there are so many different Vehicle makes, models, trims, options and features as variables to those appraisals it is difficult to accurately determine values to the penny. Same can be said for the Card Collecting industry with different Manufacturers, parallels, variations, errors and numbered cards and the difficulty there is to find a card sometimes in TCDB, let alone in a paper Beckett. I miss the days where you could find a card in the Baseball Card Monthly books you could buy for $2. Easy to find cards in there with pricing and arrows for valuation projections. I think Collx is a great tool to give someone an idea or a range of what a card might go for, however, it will be a very difficult task to be able to account for over 18 million (and rapidly counting) cards to be able to scan and determine actual value. Plus, as in the car business, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay at that moment.

I have used Collx, CenterStage, SportsCardDatabase, eBay's Collection Beta and a couple others. TCDb remains at the top of the range for me. In particular, I haven't found a better platform for trading, logging and engaging with the community of collectors. I fear that these days may be numbered however as the convenience of scanning cards with your phone and efficiency of AI/ML tech to log cards scanned by said phone is quickly becoming effective.
PLEASE allow us to export to csv our collections. the recent site outage scared me to death. I can't stand the thought of re-logging 50k+ cards again and likely won't do it without AI help.

CollX just added an export to .csv about a month or two ago for their paid service. I stopped using Collx because the scans didn't work very well for me, especially on parallels, and sometimes it's just clonky and slow. If/when i decide to pull out of CollX i'll just use my google credit, pay and export, then cancel the sub.
I'd like TCDB to add export, but at the same time, i dont think most of these other tools allow us to import, so either way i think we are all SOL as far as moving between sites.

I just saw an ad for this last night and was wondering about it. The ad mentions using it for trading and selling cards and I was wondering if anyone here had used it and is so how is it. Is it more of a buyers or sellers market there? I was curious if I should try it to look for deals or if its a good place to sell cards for top dollar.
