I'm pretty sure they'll stick with the release, hard to see them scaling back releases at this juncture. They've been coy about more details of Topps Series 1 until just recently and since Opening Day apes the design, it probably won't be announced or spotlighted until at least after the Series 1 checklist gets posted (which is soon) or released to stores.

They probably have 15 more 2022 sets to put out before they worry about 2023 sets which should arrive sometime in the next three years or so.

They also seem so busy releasing Sapphire versions of everything forget about a basic set that kids should "afford." Nope, now we need Bowman Draft Sapphire and a bunch of other poo poo.
At least it's not UD releasing 21-22 sets deep into 2023.

I've been wondering about Topps' release schedule. Usually by this time we have some info and dates for Heritage, Gypsy Queen, Opening Day and a high end release.

Every year I seem to go back and forth between buying only some of the flagship set this year and buying only some of Opening Day this year. In the end I usually end up getting some of both.

I just can't get excited about Opening Day sets. It's yet another attempt to print the same card and sell it to the same suckers. I don't need one card that comes in a base form, OD form, black, blue, pink, orange, rainbow, purple and camo. Plus there is another set of inserts with OD, and of course parallels to the inserts, because you HAVE to have parallels to inserts. My eyes roll so hard at what Topps has become. Flagship base set or nothing, is my opinion.

It seems to me that people love the mascot cards from OD but that's about it. Getting the SN cards from there are a real pain.
