    I just watched an old episode of the Fugitive, starring David Janssen. The interesting thing about it, is that it features several 1963 Topps Football cards. Johnny Unitas and Jim Brown's cards are both shown close up. The boy in the story(played by a young Kurt Russell); is the son of Lieutenant Gerrard, who is in constant persuit of Dr. Richard Kimble, the fugitive.

     The boy obviously has a fondness for the cards. His father even states, "He'd never go anywhere without those cards." But at one point, he tosses the cards one by one, out a station wagon window, so as to leave a cardboard trail of breadcrumbs to mark his location. 
     Jim Brown is the first to be sacrificed, landing face up, on a dusty mountain road. Later in the episode, Dr. Kimble is thumbing through a few cards that survived. The camera pans in on a 1963 Topps #1 of Johnny Unitas.

    I also remember a Lucy Show episode with some football cards featured around the same time period.

    Just was fun to come across and thought I'd share.

A horror story just before Halloween 🎃 🙃 

It was baseball instead of football, but a real horror story was Urkel giving up one of his 1952 Topps Mickey Mantles in exchange for Johnny Gill serenading Urkel's love interest on "Family Matters"

Seriously, for that card, he should have at least got all of Boyz II Men!

I happened upon a rerun of "The Munsters" where Herman had a baseball tryout for Leo Durocher (who wasn't a bad actor); Elroy 'Crazy Legs' Hirsch makes a cameo at the end, getting smacked in the head with a football. It was pretty basic in terms of physical comedy, but entertaining!

   That's a great episode. I also liked the Mr. Ed one, where the horse held a bat in his teeth and hit an inside the park homerun off Sandy Koufax, ending it with a four legged slide into home plate.

Pride of the Yankees where they wouldnt let Lou Gehrig play baseball unless he gave them a card. It was a 1919 Spirting News Babe Ruth rookie and he folded it up and put it in his pocket. Lou then hitva home run and busted out a window
