I am curious to know what's the BEST way to store for years to come short-prints (Topps Heritage) and rookie cards? Originally my rookies for team sets are in Top Loaders w the gold rookie card stamped across the front. Since I have several cards for one player for example Rafael Devers, its hard to choose which one to put away in a Top Loader.
How do folks decided which one(s) rookies are worth storing in more than a silly team bag w the other cards? Years ago, I got the Dice-K 07 Upper Deck RC card, the guy at my card shop said you need to store in him a 1-touch magnetic trading card holder. This card last time I checked was said to be a value of $50. These card holders and even the top loaders get pricy if you need that many of them. I find even the Bowman Prospect or Bowman Chrome Prospect card can be be worth lots of $$ too .
Thanks.

You're going to see a lot of opinions, but there is only one true BEST way. That way is whatever way you choose to store them. Everyone has their own ideas and what works for them, but it's up to you to decide what is best. Myself you ask? For the most part I don't store them any differently. All my sets are in 800ct boxes and mostly stored without added protection (penny sleeve, top loader, etc.) and that includes SPs and RCs. I say mostly because I do have some high value cards, not just RC (vintage...), that I have placed into top loaders. Those too are stored with their respective sets.

I penny sleeve em first and then put in box or binder pages. For me, a penny is a small investment to protect future potential. Time consuming but worth it for me. Its not going to harm them

If anyone wants to send me cards from my wantlist or teams I like, I am happy to accept :)

I don't treat them any differently either. They go in the binders with the rest of the set or in the boxes with the few complete sets I have stored that way.

I treat all my cards the same. I sleeve them immediately, then put them into either a regular toploader or a Rookie toploader. Then I file them in a box by year and set. Maybe this is overkill. When I started getting too many cards to keep in a shoebox, I started doing this. Now it is getting to be too expensive and taking up a lot of room. So my advice is to plan ahead in case you get addicted to collecting cards!

"in case you get addicted..."
I think it's far too late for too many of us on here.

I put all my HOF or Future HOF in penny sleeve and top loaders. My uncle made me 2 boxes to store cards out of plywood and 4 rows 3 foot long. Holds a bunch of cards. As my vintage is done the same way 1888-1979 but stored in my moms cedar hope chest. She influenced me to keep collecting when i thought about giving up the hobby in 1994. So when she passed away my dad gave me her hope chest and what a way to remember my mom and still enjoy card collecting. Every time i get a vintage or prewar i goes in the hope chest
I agree with everyone else there is no wrong way except for 1 bad way. And that way is any way you can potentially damage the card(s)
