I picked up a box at a local card shop that gives you "2 autos/relics plus packs and 500 cards" for $20. The boxes are mostly commons but they're fun to go through so I always grab one when I happen to visit that particular store. This time one of the "relics" was a card of baseball blogger Jordan Shusterman. I'm trying to understand just what a "relic" for a baseball blogger would be. Is it a piece of the underwear he was wearing while typing on his computer about baseball? Is it a piece of the shirt he wore while attending a game? I'm trying to decide if I even want to keep this "relic" or just trash it.

If you decide to trash it, I will take it. Otherwise I have no clue on what it is. Probably some shirt he wore attending a game, or writing about a game.

I'm trying to understand what the significance of it is, and of any "relic" that isn't game used. Does anyone really care if they own a piece of fabric from a shirt some non-player wore?

It just may be some way for card company to say it includes a relic but it isn't truly what some collectors, would call a relic. Just a way to make more money as people buy to get that one good card and get some bloggers shirt. Its sad seeing where the hobby has gone.

I'm an usher for our local AA team so maybe at the end of the season I'll cut up my shirt into 1 inch squares and create some relic cards. At least my shirt will have been worn to roughly 65 games - which is more than can be said for the piece of fabric on some bloggers card.

Is it a 2019 Allen & Ginter card? If so, I can actually tell you for a fact that it's a piece of a Mike Leake Mariners shirt that he owned.
Also, if you don't want it, I would take it.

It is a '19 Allen &Ginter so if the swatch of fabric is actually from a players jersey, I guess that's something. So I guess the blogger bought a game worn jersey as a souvenir and then donated it so it could be cut up and made into cards?
