Thanks to all that traded with me in the last 14+ months (my first completed was with firesnbeers on new years eve 2020 and he originally said he would send the card I needed and wanted nothing in return). What a great trading community here and I am glad that I found the place where the last of us dinosaur set completers still roam. My friends and family can't believe it when I tell them how it works here. I send a bunch of cards to a random dude (I am 300 in and don't think I have traded with any females yet) on the internet with only his word that he will send the cards we agreed on back to me.
I now have 300 PWEs completed and have had 0 times where I did not get the cards agreed on back. I have even had several cases where my trading partner sent additional cards. There have been a couple wrong cards or missed one of the cards situations that were rectified by another transaction or just sending the card in another PWE. I had one PWE that the envelope was ripped but it got here and all the cards inside were fine (I think some tape on the flaps would have prevented this from happening). I have also not had any complaints of my cards showing up damaged or not making it to the destination (I did mix up addresses and send the wrong cards to 2 different guys once and they did a trade to fix that for me). I know there are some PWE haters out there but I am definitely not one of them.
- My average per PWE is 10.63 cards and about 80% of the U.S. ones have made it all the way there safely with one forever stamp
- The other 20% made it safely with an additional ounce stamp
- I think that holding shipping costs down is paramount to trading for commons to complete sets
- I wanted to call out hookedsince68 for during my 3rd completed trade sharing with me much of what became my current PWE shipping process which is keeping the shipping costs down
- CraigM, Kedo, Madams30 are my top trade partners with 5 each and All are great trade partners
- The most I had was 18 trades in flight at the same time (Please put the transaction number in/on the envelope to make it easy for your partner to check in)
I am not sure how many trades I will be doing in the next 14 months. My wishlist is shrinking from all of the great trades. I made a deal with myself never to rip packs again in the early 90s but I ended up breaking that last year while completing the 2021 Topps base set. A lot of my trades were from the doubles that I got doing that. Like MLB, I have locked myself out of buying packs so far this year, I am not sure yet if I am going to get sucked back into that again this year or not yet.
Thanks again to all that have helped improve my collection and I hope that I have done the same for you. Keep an eye on your inbox for more trade proposals.
