The  5 sets of Hero Decks Green Bay Packers Football Heroes Playing Cards.  Most cards are the same but do have some different cards from set to set.

I have 2 players that I want.   They are the same card number in all 5 sets.  My question is:  Would you get 5 of each card and list them one in each set OR just get one of each card?  If you just get one then what!   Which set do you put it in?  What about the other sets and your want list.   As a collector it is kind of like the Vars but just NO different in the cards.  Do you really need the Var (extra cards)?

If I was doing this, I'd probably track down a full deck on eBay, add the whole thing to my collection, and pull the couple I really out of the deck to put into toploaders so I could put them in my PC box. (This is assuming the design and card number are the same every year, and all the players I want a card of can be found in one year's deck).

Now, if a deck cost too much for me to want to bother (or I didn't want to take up any more space than strictly necessary), I'd just track down a single card of both players I wanted. Then if I *know* which year's deck they originally came from, I'd obviously list it there. If I had no clue, I'd just guess and then put them both in the same year in the database to keep my collection simplified.

There are 3 Detroit tiger sets that I assumed had identical cards repeated. I recently looked closely and found that what appeared to be an identical repeated card was in fact slightly different from 2007 to the 2013 issue. This card basically states the same information but was reworded slightly after the first release. Take a close look before you assume all the cards are identical over the years released. Also, hopefully when images were added here the correct set was used.

From my experience trying to figure out the Cardinals Hero Decks, three suits always remain the same, and the suit with the newest players changes with each re-release. Possibly clubs but I can't remember for sure.  I would just get one of the players you wanted, and consider the task complete.  I collect decks of cards anyway, so I'm fine with the complete deck I have.  This is another instance where I think an additional category of "Don't Want List" would be useful in our collections.  You could add the duplicates to that after adding one to your collection from whichever year. 

The Ahman Green card for 2006  is different from the others  2011 does not have a image.  The differents is:    2006 shows Running Back, 2000-present  others show  Running Back, 2000-2006  Other wise looks the same to me.

The Verne Lewellen appears to be all the same but no image in year 2011.

I have tracked down some singles and decks.   They do not state what year they are.  Just figuring out how I want to go.  May buy a deck and see if any one wants the rest of them.  I did that with the McDonalds Tabs

I also find there is another year of the Philadelphia Eagles as I have 2 Irving Fryar cards that are different fronts and backs then the ones listed here.  One is listed here and the other is not then one listed that I do not have..  Just do not know what year the other one is and no complete checklist.

I know how I will work it with my Excel file just not sure how I will work it out here yet.

There is a Do Not Have list and a Want list.  The problem with that is that all the cards on the Want list shows also on the Do Not Have list.   I have put in a request for a new feature that would change the Do Not have list to only the cards that You do not have on your want list or in your collection.  It is called  Not in Any List Filter.   That way it will show cards you do not want and new cards you have not put on your want list yet.
