'Twas the week before Christmas
and all through the house
nothing to chow down on
not even cheese for a mouse
The car was gassed up ready to go
In case we needed to run to the store
The aisles were full, packed to the gills
with shoppers trying to find some good deals
Almost all the food was placed in the cart
Time to peruse another aisle at the Walmart
When down the last aisle, I was filled with joy
Not because of deals, or even some toys
Gazing at the row I almost walked past
It was filled with trading cards, I stood aghast.
Its been over a year since I seen it so full
I was for sure it would get me out of this lull
The prices were steep, more than I'd want to pay
But just seeing cards, made my entire day.
I left without any new packs
But I'm sure next week, I'll have to go back.
I wasn't really expecting to find cards at my local Walmart, but I think I saw every sport represented. MLB,NBA,NFL,NHL,UFC,WWE, even some NWSL, which admittedly has been for sale there all year, but they finally put out prices for them now. A pack of hockey cards was 6 bucks, that was the cheapest thing I saw, and the only thing of interest to me was WWE Topps Chrome but I didn't want to pay 20 bucks for 28 cards. They did have the Topps Holiday box and complete sets, so if I do go back, I might consider it if I have a few extra bucks. Though I really just went to get some food. It was nice to see it totally full, I'm not sure if they restocked today or what, but nothing looked picked over.
