People make me sick. I hate the part about "They have clearly been here before to survey", making this a highly planned robbery. Hopefully the store's insurance helps but I hate how card stores now have to watch out for this more than ever before.

I think the world is just going crazy. A couple days ago the bank across from me was robbed. The robber did it at 10 AM and got away on foot. Town of 800 people, and instead of getting away on the only road in and out of town, he went a different direction. It probably doesn't help when your only cop is a real life version of Chief Wiggum from The Simpsons. If I had been looking out my window he would have walked by my place. I hope they catch the guy just so the workers can feel safe again, I'm sure it rattles them whenever a person walks in on foot these days.

I have a great way to stop this kind of stuff but the Supreme Court said it was cruel and unusual punishment
until we go back to corporal punishment for thieves, murders, car thieves rapists and drug dealers we will get the same results we got right now which is crap. The criminals have all the rights and the victim is victim from the criminal and the laws so the victim gets victimized 2x
dont get me riled up I got banned from FB for speaking my mind and I don't want it to happen here too.

I've been in those recently but had no idea. The closest one to be robbed that I was aware of was in Knoxville - More than $54K in sports cards stolen from Knoxville memorabilia dealer – KIRO 7 News Seattle
Baseball Card Warehouse has been around for over 30 years and had at least three different owners that I have known. The current owner has done a lot of work to get the place in order. I hadn't been there since the pandemic started and was blown away by how much organization had taken place. Seems like a really nice guy too.

That is why if you own anything you need to have good insurance making sure it covers you. When I'm looking at insurance many people are covered for the minimum amount not what they need to be protected.

Getting off topic slightly but...
Since you identified yourself in the "What do you do" forum posting as an insurance agent I'll ask. How do you get a card collection insured? About 10 years ago I talked to 3 different agents, representing more than 3 different companies and as told that I could get a separate policy for my cards at a 10% yearly fee of whatever I wanted to value my cards for. If I were to claim that my cards are worth $100,000 obviously that means I'd pay $10,000 a year for coverage. Sorry but I find that ridiculous.
If you, or anyone else reading this has found a reasonable solution for insuring a collection I'd appreciate hearing about it. I have almost 60 years of complete Topps sets and at current values I'd never be able to afford replacing them.
And thanks for starting the earlier referenced thread. Reading about everyone's profession was one of more enjoyable reads.

I work for farmers and can't speak for other companies. From what I know is if you have a policy for homeowners or renters I can add an extra coverage on top of personal property. The biggest thing is make sure your personal property includes what your cards are worth. If you have 100k in cards and 100k in other personal property then make sure you have 200k in coverage. For farmers when you make a claim and your house is a loss. They will write your a check for the amount of personal property you have insured.
I have seen other places like Beckett that have some insurance for cards but it doesn't look promising.
