I was trying to figure this out with a friend on Sunday, and we couldn't locate any information on this. All we could find was the Hall of Fame inductee class years. I'm looking for the years with the most HOF rookie cards. It can get complicated because some rookie cards are only in traded or the rookies or update. For example 1987 Donruss has Maddux and Larkin and maybe Bonds and McGwire in the future. In 87 Fleer you have Maddux in the update with possibly McGwire down the line and Bonds is in regular set with Larkin. 1983 Topps has Boggs, Gwynn, Sandberg. Does anyone know a website that lists this kind of info or know it themselves and would like to share. I invest a lot in factory sets. Thank you.

Without researching anything yet, my guess would be 1951 Bowman, 1954 Topps ... something around there

Interesting that would be something fun to know.
I know there are some card bloggers who have counted the number of HOFers in sets. Among them a guy named Greg who is known as "The Night Owl". He loves digging for fun facts like that. He has made some posts on his blog at Blogger (nightowlcards.blogspot.com).for number of HOFers in a set. For the 1952 set he has done a post of which players are still alive (or was it which have died?). I think Hammering Hank Aaron was the last.

I collect: Baseball, Football, Hockey, Mostly Vintage pre1980, My Homie teams - Washington/Baltimore Teams Senators (Twins, Rangers), Expos/Nationals, Redskins, Capitals, Bullets/Wizards - HOFers - Non-sport (mostly TV shows and movies). My Trade List is very much a work in progress CaptKirk42s Trading Card Blog Curly W Cards Strive For '65 YouTube klandersen42

1980s 1988 has 5 hall of famers but they are sprinkled in different sets.
1990s 1991 has 6 hall of famers not sure if they areall in the same sets.
2000s no hall of famers yet.

Neat trick since the Hammer wasn't in a set until '54
As for the OP it would most likely be a 1950's or late 1940's set .
