I am planning on putting my entire collection of sports and movie and television shows cards in sleeves and was wondering how many 9 card sheets can comfortably fit in a standard 3 ring binder.

Depends on the size of the binder, For me I use 1/2 binders for 100 card sets or less, 200 for 1in binder etc. but deopends some of the thicker cards, You adjust as you go

For a 3" binder probably close to 80ish. However, you need to take into consideration the thickness of the cards. Using Topps baseball as an example, a full set of 700 (78 pages) or 792 in the past would fit well in 3". Howerver, a Heritage set of 725 would not as the cards are roughly twice as thick (depending on year) as the flasgship ones.

It also depends on which sheets you choose. The Ultra Pros are much thinner (and lighter) than the "old school 80's" pages. They make storing much easier, but are also very slick and cards in the top pockets have a tendency to slip out a bit.

Yes, round rings vs D rings makes a difference also.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I'd never store cards in anything other than D-Ring binders

I easily fit 45 Ultra Pro Platinum pages in a 1.5inch D ring binder with some room to spare.

Standard D-ring binders that cost around $10 or so, standard cards back-to-back (18 cards per page), I can fit about 60-65 pages per binder, which is about 1000-1100 cards per binder.
