Fortunately I missed the last one here in VA, just above where Adam is at. Looks like I will probably miss this one too, though I will be in Baltimore where they are forecasting snow instead of ice. I might get to come back to it though. Lots of ice is a royal P.I.T.A.!

Stay safe everyone involved in these storms. Glad I don't have to deal with much where I live.

I did Greg. I hung a flashlight from the ceiling over the couch Saturday night and got all my JJ cards put in albums. At least until I found a few more. I got all the MLB and NASCAR traders you gave me blended into the boxes from Paul on Sunday as well. I still have a ton of cards to put away around here, so at least I have plenty to do that doesn't require electricity. I still have your number in my cell, so I'll text you if I need to update you. I have a plan in place to handle the fantasy game as well.

Definitely do. We keep it near the patio door and leave that door slightly open. And it's off when we are in the bed. I'd much rather have the snow instead of freezing rain. It doesn't take out the power and I can drive in it IF it's not real deep. My problem is that if work is open, I have to go in. And they rarely close for anything besides Thanksgiving and Christmas. The roads should just be wet by the time I go to work. Hopefully I'll get home before they freeze overnight.

Please do. And remember that right before the power went out you accepted a trade with me for your entire Jimmie Johnson collection for my least expensive Harvick card. I'm heading to NC on business next week so please have it properly packed by then.

I'd have to be on my deathbed to agree to that trade! I just got about 150 more cards in from the next-to-last trade I accepted. I mailed the cards out for the last trade today. They were supposed to already be gone but the weather intervened. So all my online stuff is wrapped up until this weather passes. The weather is supposed to be nice and normal next week. I'm very ready to get back to sunny and in the 50's during the daytime. I'm sick of the cold and stuff falling from the sky. Today is the 1st day in a week that some type of precipitation didn't fall from the sky. But it's still chilly.

Okay traders, I'm about to get back in action. While I did not lose power from the ice on Thursday, I needed some time to get PC cards into albums. I really just needed a short break from dealing with other peoples' wants while I took some time to get some of these stacks put away into my PC. Hundreds done but about 2K to go. Anyway, I've PM'd or TM'd everyone who has an existing trade proposal with me. If you got neither, it means you are in the Pull Cards First category (bbcards56 might be the only one). I do keep a written list of trade proposals and the state of them. So I will work on these some more Monday evening after work. I'm waiting on return-replies from a couple of members, but I have 4 offers that are at the PULL stage now.
Just wanted to update this thread...

Only 31 hours? You got lucky. We went from Sunday night until Thursday afternoon without power here in Houston. Luckily my daughter had power at her house the entire time and we were able to spend the nights there. Still have a few problems with pipes but almost ready to get back in the swing of it again.

Only a few days. In the early 70s my folks on a farm in Nebraska was without power for over 30 days, The ice strom toke out 100s of miles of power line and posts. Most were running north and south lines the east and west lines was OK. So some people close to them never loss power. One large transmition line just north of the farm went down and had to be replaced. The towers were 3 big posts and had to be brough in by air. Real fun watching them flew over the farm hoping they did not drop them.
Real pain getting water to cows, sheep and pigs for that long of a time. It was a good thing they still had a wood heating stove at the time. Had a tank of water in the basement but no power to pump it up to the upstairs.
So I undrstand how you feel. Now days when power is loss for a few hour it feels like days for me.
