5 or 6 years ago a guy tried to sell me 3 3200 count boxes full of the 90s fleer pro set and other cheap cards. One box looked like he dropped it on a corner. I asked what happen and he told me that is the way I find it in a dumpster. Most of the cards looked like that is where they should have been.

Two years ago I was on a mission trip with my wife and in laws in North Carolina. We took a day to tour around the town and I stopped in the local card shop, I ended up buying a Harmon Killebrew card for $12. I kind of forgot about it until this past month until I began inputting my collection into this website this past month. Turns out it is a 1955 Harmon Killebrew rookie card.

I am skeptical that it is real since it seems too good to be true. But can't find any proof that it is not.

Damn, I always hear about these stories of great finds and it never seems to happen to me. Best find I had was that I found a Battlestar Galactica trading card stuffed as a bookmark in a book I bought at a library book sale two or three years ago.

Well, I found some outdated Topps Soccer Match Attax packs in a supermarket in Stanley, capital of the Falkland Islands. I thought 'what the heck' and bought them. One of them had an autographed card of Arsenal midfielder Elneny. Not a shocking find, but quite an 'unlikely place'.

Back in the late 80s my dad used to take me to a local monthly flea market where he would chat with some of his friends and look for vintage meccano army vehicles he collected. One time there was a card vendor who had a couple of milk crates full of commons from early 80s OPC hockey sets, including most of the 80-81 set, with the cards costing 2 cents each. After he saw me going through them all and pulling out many, he offered to sell me both crates for $20. Thankfully my dad gave me the money to buy them, and I was the owner of nearly all the 80-81 set, minus the Gretzky cards, but including the Mark Messier and Ray Bourque RC, and a bunch of cards from other sets. There was also some baseball cards, including a Sandberg OPC RC. It was well worth the 20 bucks, especially to a 10-year old kid.

No great vintage card finds like those posted, but I often have fairly good luck with new stuff off the shelf.
My first jumbo pack of 2020 Topps Update baseball had the U-21 Kyle Lewis RC Variant. This past Monday, I bought a blaster box of 2019-2020 Upper Deck hockey, and pulled the Canvas YG insert #C94, Cale Makar.
Those were my favorite pulls, and my most lucky!

I'm a musician and back in the early '90s I used play gigs at the Hockey Hall of Fame here in Toronto or at the NHL award shows held at one of the convention centres. I had just started collecting cards around that time thanks to my mom who gave me some late '70s and early 80's O-Pee-Chee hockey sets she got at a garage sale, including a complete 80-81 set. At one of NHL award shows I was given a 1991-92 Pro Set - NHL Awards Special set. I thought at the time that I wouldn't open it because it might be worth something someday. It wasn't until I entered the set in the database earlier this year that I realized how valuable it is. And yes, I still haven't opened the cello pack.

No archive stamp on mine. But thanks for pointing that out. I kind of want to get my hands on that one as well now.

There's a consignment shop not too far from where I live called Crazy Frank's. Whenever we are near there I try to stop. It looks like a couple different folks sell cards through there, one focusing on cheap wax junk era repacks and another selling newer indvidual cards. Nothing crazy, but I did find a 1974 Dick Butkus and 1971 Gales Sayers that I picked up cheap. I usually grab a repack or two just for the fun of opening packs.
