I went to Target yesterday and they had rows of rack packs and a bunch of boxes of Topps Update. Hadn’t seen any cards in a while. So I grabbed a rack pack.
I happened to be at Target again today and I thought, hey I’ll get another rack pack. Unsurprisingly the entire area had been wiped out. All in one day.
I am getting quite annoyed at the state of the hobby considering the majority of the time I can’t find any new cards to open.
The reason I got back into the hobby was because whenever I went to the store with my wife I would never buy anything for myself. So it became something I was excited about going to the store about so I could get a rack pack once a week or so or splurge on a blaster every now and then. All these flippers have basically ruined the hobby for me since 99 percent of the time I go look at the card section and there’s nothing there.
I also used to get a hobby box once a year of either Topps or Hoops for roughly 65 bucks but now you have to take a mortgage out on them which is really silly the prices for some sports cards.
Is there an end to this or I’m a pretty much just getting forced out of my hobby of buying new cards for fun at the store?
