I received this in email form this morning from the organizers.
"The 2020 Atlantic City National Sports Collectors Convention, which had been postponed to December has been cancelled. Organizers cited concern for the safety of attendees and exhibitors and the uncertainty over COVID-19 federal and state guidelines as the major reasons for the cancellation. Planning efforts for the 2021 Chicago National, scheduled for July 28-August 1, 2021 at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL will begin immediately.
"Persons holding tickets for the 41st National may choose to use these tickets for the 2021 Chicago National with no changes required. Individuals who prefer to receive a refund may contact the National by email at nsccshow@gmail.com. Tickets for the Chicago National may be purchased on the National's web site at www.NSCCShow.com.
"Exhibitors for the Atlantic City National will be contacted directly and will have the following options: 1) Rollover any payments for the Atlantic City show to Chicago 2021; or 2) Request a refund for any payments made for the Atlantic City event. Details on how booths will be assigned for Chicago will be provided to exhibitors. Exhibitors requesting booth space for Chicago should contact the National Office at 732-735-6683.
"The 41st National Sports Collectors Convention will be held July 28-August 1, 2021 at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont IL. General Admission Tickets and VIP Admission Packages for the National are available now and may be purchased by clicking here or on the banner below."

Chicago is not close for me. I was planning on going to AC this year (until the virus thingy hit). Better safe than sorry.

I was planning to go before everything went out the window. Even when it was postponed instead of cancelled I didn't plan to go...I will try for Cleveland in 2022.
It would have been my first National.
Chicago is about an 18 hour drive from here. Maybe more. Went to Joliet (Chicagoland Speedway) instead of the convention center last October. It was more than 4 hours to get back to the motel in Maumee Ohio, and that's about 15 hours one way, at least going the NYS Thruway. The Pennsylvania Turnpike is slightly faster but not as much fun.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I was going to go also, would have been a heck of an experience. One day, one day. This would have been a heck of an opportunity for a mass meet-up. With the number of members within range of Atlantic City and there propbably would have been a nice turn-out, maybe too many for Chuck's cards.

I'm curious... I know it started in L.A. in 1980, but has it ever been in the Phoenix/Tucson/Las Vegas area?

That's a bummer, was still planning to go in December. But realize dealers have to travel great distances and there's no appetite for that at the moment.
Usually try to hit the national on the east coast shows (Atlantic City, Baltimore, Cleveland). Haven't made the trip to Chicago, yet.

What, didn't you know the L8s RUN the convention?! They secretly pull the strings of the entire hobby. Shadow organization they are. Withthat said Cleveland may be my next shot. I could do Chicago, but I need to make up for this year's cancelled vacation next summer.
