Do what you want in my eyes.
As far as I can tell this was created to be a comprehensive resource and should be used as such.
People are way too precious about their little corners of the world.
If someone's biggest issue in life is your non-existent collection makes them feel inferior in some way then the rest of their life must be pretty bloody good.
Best of luck with your project.

Yes, I have been working on a spreadsheet for months that lists every Major Release card in this database. I was hoping to finish it, and provide it to the people here as a tool, but dont know if I will share it now on here. I have not been able to find any decent spreadsheet or software program out there that is complete. I currently have about 95% of the Major Releases in my spreadsheet. Wxcept for a few Autographs sets,as well as 2020 sets.
I currently have my list alphabetized, and it goes from 1868- some 2020 sets
and yes I have hidden everything now, so people wont keep B!!!!! about it here
I was trying to get a piece of software together, that people that share my love for baseball cards could use.

Adding cards to my collection makes it so much easier to copy that date to my spreadsheet. When you are dealing with like 500k lines in a spreadsheet every little step you can take to save time helps.
I add the cards to my collection
goto set and then pricing
everything lines up perfect on spreadsheet, and no card images to have to deal with on pricing page
also have 1000 per page on my profile, lots less clicking from page to page

Sounds interesting. Never thought about using the pricing page. Hmmmm. Be curious to see the end result.

Welcome to the site.
Among what others suggested, I would challenge you to use the site to track your inventory of one of the years or teams,. It is pretty fun to check the little boxrs!
I used to use spreadsheets for a team collection I have, then tried here and kept on going!

Sounds like a cool project. Keep doing what you’re doing and don’t worry about the complainers

That's awesome dude. This database has been a wonderful thing. I has helped me discovered cards for my favorite team that I didn't know about before. And I have given back checklist for team sets that were not here before. Everyone uses the site differently. Some use it for trading, some for tracking and cataloging their cards, I use it to create more of a shopping list, lol. You do you, I think people were just curious how you do things as I am curious how others do it. We learn from each other. The veterans here have been a wealth of information that I have enjoyed over and over again.

I have been trying to figure out a clean way to copy my collection in to an Excel spreadsheet. Your method works nicely. Thanks for the information. Hope you remain on the site.

If what your using the site for works for you. Keep doing it. People should be able to ignore your lists. If they don't like it. Some times, it seems some people get a little too bent out of shape over small things here. I hope you'll stay around and post your list when you get them completed.

All points are well taken. But, I was under the impression that one of the goals of our site was to attract as many members as possible. Someone contempating joining might be a bit apprehensive when they see one of there 1 of 1's is already in someone elses collection. Being a collector for the past 45+ years, I realize how difficult and time consuming it is to compile some sets and player collections. That said: I do have an appreciation of other peoples collections and rankings. Fuuthermore, I think that to have a card in your "collection", you should at least have one in your possession. Anything less compremises the integrity of our site.
Respectfully,
Mike
