Although I am a very small collector and have bought very few unopened boxes, I was super fortunate to pull a great card several years back... the 2010 Bowman Chrome Stephen Strasburg superfractor ser #1/1! For years I have debated on whether to keep it or sell it, but I am now swaying toward selling it. Trouble is, what is the best way? Should i get it graded or not? I am from Canada, so it would be expensive to ship it insured for grading. Do I have a consignment company like PWCC or Probstein on ebay sell it for me? I want a fool-proof safe, no hassle transaction, and of course... I also want to get the most $ I can from the card. Any thoughts/suggestions?

i just use ebay.. haven't tried other cosignments , unless i leave it at my local store.. but Goldin Autions has been listing some high end sales- i've contacted them a few ago to sell some things, just like any other aution , they will place with an opeing bid on "like" items past sales and what they think also it will start at (condition/player, etc etc) and after the sale, they get 15%. they have a couple major autions a year, the next is in May for spring, so upon reciept and processing they will advertise from there.

there are few out there.

Personally, I don't see the point in grading a 1/1 card. It's the only one that is out there, so there is no reason to grade it to seperate it from the others on the market. If it comes back as a PSA6 or PSA10, it is still the only one available.
As for getting the most money out of it, I can't see how going through a consignment for one card will get you more money. You'll have to pay the 15-20% consignment on top of everything else.
In order to get the most money, put it on eBay and use all 12 picture slots they give you. Take close ups of each corner, front and back. If you do your research, you can put it out there as a BIN with an agressive price and accept offers. Take your time in responding to offers if you get a bunch soon after you list the card and play the offers off of each other. If you're anxious to move it, then put it out there as an auction with a starting price of 99cents. You'll get more views that way, and that is what you are looking for. Also start the auction so that it ends on a Sunday evening.
Finally, my last piece of advice for something like this is to wait until baseball is being played again and the economy isn't going town the tank. Unless you really need the money now, you'll do better when baseball is being played.
Best of luck!

I agree that grading a 1/1 is pointless and a waste of money.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
