I have looked around for these to protect the front and backs of my card binders, but I am surprised how expensive and hard-to-find they are. So far a package of 10 for $22.50 on Amazon is the best deal I have found, but still seems expensive (and they are white when I want black). Anyone know of a better place to get these?

Try making your own. There are a couple of YouTube videos about this. It's what I'm looking into doing for the same reason you stated. I just cannot get myself to spend that much on supplies no matter what they're for. More than half my supplies have come in the way of purchases or donations - binders from school or church.

I got mine from the office when they tossed wornout binders.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Years ago I bought an item called ACCO Boomerang Sheet Lifters at Staples. They came in packages of 10. I can not remember what they cost. It also appears Staples does not carry them anymore.
Just did a Google search. $4.29 for a pack of 10. Heartland Solutions. They appear to be in Winkler MB. That might be a Canadian price.

Here's link to someone who's made page lifters themselves.

I don't know that the boomerang ones or narrow strip ones would work as well as the full 8.5" x 11" ones. I want them to protect the front and back pages of cards from getting bent or creased.

Wanna go the really cheap route? Here's what I've been doing. Get some page protectors (for sheets of paper) and put a cut-to-size piece of cardboard in there. A piece of cereal box or the back of a paper notebook or legal pad works fine. If you don't feel that's enough, corrugated cardboard works too. You just have to cut it a bit shorter on the long side so that it fits into the page protector. You can get that cardboard free at any store, especially grocery stores. Just ask someone. One case-box for cereal will make 6 sheets that size. A case-box for toilet paper or paper towels will make even more. I get my cardboard at work (not a store). I've been using this method for a few years now and have had no problems.

I use pocket folders with binder holes that you can find in school supplies at the dollar store. I keep wrappers, thick memorabilia cards, coins or anything that won't fit in card protector pages. Stored inside the folder they won't damage the cards in the binder.

Do you guys store your binders standing up or laying flat? I’d rather store them standing but I’m nervous the pages will sag. I’ve been toying with coming up with a page lifter that has some sort of support for the bottom of the pages built in.
