Unless they are specifically released as "variations", i.e. A is the red jersey and B is the blue, or they are different materials (one card is a bat and another is pants), I believe the policy has always been to not list different swatches as variations. No baseball uniform is a solid color - it's even worse with teams with pinstripes. Theoretically, it's kind of like autographs in that no one signs their name the exact same way twice; those minute details don't make for a VAR here.
At least, this is my recollection of the verdict last time I remember this being discussed.
