Probably just watched the game of the tourney so far with UVA beating Perdue in overtime to advance to the Final Four. As well likely good that I could just sit back and watch as I had neither team to advance this far in my bracket. I'm nearly toast with just Duke left after Gonzaga got taken out in the first match. Oh well it was fun and now to enjoy what's remaining.

I agree PapaG, that was a fantastic game. Well-fought by both teams! Purdue just needs another scorer to go along with Edwards. That's the whole reason I didn't have them getting past 'Nova in the 2nd round. He scored 42 points against UVA and the rest of the team scored 33 with no one else getting more than 7 points. No team can win a championship like that. They made a hell of a run at it though! UVA won that off their fantastic defense, even though they gave up more points in regulation than any game in this tournament or the ACC tourney. They also scored more points than in any of those tourney games. I can't wait to see who they'll face next Saturday for Championship game spot.
But now the only correct picks I can have involve Duke. UNC and Gonzaga went down before the Final Four, but I still have Duke and UVA alive right now. But I had Gonzaga and UVA losing in the Final 4 anyway. So everything now rests on Duke. I went 12-3 in the West and 10-5 in both the Midwest and South. I'm at 10-4 in the East, so the Duke/Mi. St. game determines my final record in that quarter of the bracket. I really want a Duke-UVA championship game now. Not just b/c I'm an ACC guy, but also b/c I think that's the best match-up for a really great game. I don't think Auburn or Kentucky can defend Duke and I don't think Texas Tech can score enough against UVA's defense or outscore Auburn or Kentucky. Michigan State is iffy with a possible injury and no real experience against the other remaining teams. I think they can take Kentucky, but I'm not sure they can do anything with the others unless they have all their starters. Duke vs. Auburn might be a great match-up too, but it could easily become a blow-out either way. Momentum is THE KEY in games this late in the tourney!

Having been a UVA fan since I saw some Freshman named Ralph Sampson playing there as a kid, that game was hard to watch.
Coming from an area of the country where there were no Major level teams, I just picked the teams I would root for for different reasons as a kid and have stuck with them all for 40+ years. I have had luck with having picked the Yankees and Penguins. But to see UVA when a basketball championship, for me the only things bigger would be to see UVA win a NC in football or the Lions win a Super Bowl.

I was rooting for UVA b/c they are a really good team, but I was rooting for them even harder tonight because they were the LAST checkmark I could put on the right-side of the bracket! That was a real nail-biter, but as a Duke fan, I'm getting really used to that this year!!! If it doesn't come down to the final 30 seconds with either team having a chance to win, it's not a GREAT game.

Just to reiterate, the UVA-Perdue tilt was a true "classic" with both teams punching and counter-punching especially throughout the entire 2nd half. I concur if Perdue had someone besides Edwards (he's a heckuva player!) UVA would have likely been in real trouble though as I eluded to neither team was "personal" to me in the tournament. Should be interesting to see how Duke comes out tonight although it seems that it's how the game ends as was shown in their last two games and in each case their opponents both controlled the outcome by not coming up with the big play. If Cam Reddish is a go that would help their chances but the 1-2 punch of Williamson and Barrett is pivotal as well. On the other side I'd say I'd likely be rooting for Auburn because; 1.) They are an exciting team to watch (i.e ask UNC and Kansas) , 2.) slight "underdog" factor, and 3.) I enjoy watching Sir Charleson A.T.&T. at the half segments. We'll see in about 12 hours or so.

Duke's loss to Michigan State ended my bracket! UVA is the only team remaining that I picked to be there now. But I can't get any more wins now. So my bracket ends here at 42-21 for a correct percentage of a bunch of 6's that I don't want to type. But the last 2 times I got 40+ correct picks were in 2010 and 2015 when Duke won the title each year. So I'm happy with getting so many correct picks this year, even though it didn't get me past the Elite 8. ANY match-up b/t the Final 4 will be a great one for the Championship now. I'm leaning towards UVA vs. Michigan State. Auburn and UVA is going to be a fun game to watch. I think MI ST will knock out TX Tech without much problem though. The Spartans have the size that the Raiders are missing. Auburn is on one helluva run but UVA has the defense to slow them down. They did the same thing to Oregon and Purdue. Those are going to be a trio of great games to watch next Saturday and Monday!
Good luck to everyone that still has a team alive in their bracket!!!

Great first semi final game. Auburn never really looked in it or out of it either . Just down by 10 late in the second, staged that comeback and then only to lose on a last .6 second foul committed on the 3 point attempt. We'll soon know the other half of the Final on Monday.

That makes me want Texas Tech to win. Anytime someone can take a bookie to the cleaners, it's cool by me.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
